Lynnie, so happy you were able to have a family gathering. I could not even imagine my family following a schedule...LOL!

Sherri, I saw you won Immunity this week. So happy for you! Hope you are felling better now since your vaccine.

I didn't have time to finish my Immunity challenge this week but will probably still post when done. I was back to work and had so many house issues pop up and then it was my week to care for Mom.

Sam, hope you and family are feeling better, so very sorry to hear of your darling pup!

We are still in code red with the pandemic and having the other strains coming to a city near you...and we are waiting for our vaccines. Not that I will be venturing out alot with it, just feel more protected when out in public. Now it's like going grocery shopping, you need to wear a gas mask to feel safe, there are so many inconsiderate people in the stores, either not covering up or reaching over you to get a grocery item and some bring their whole families, grandparents and all the kids. Like REALLY!

The weather here was getting nicer but we are expecting another cold front this weekend...hope spring comes and stays soon. I really need to tend to the yard this year.

Hi Leanne, Welcome to Gingerscraps...hoping you like it here already! I love to go to High Tea. Mom and I used to do a annual Tea Party every Spring and try out a new place. Gunners Barracks sounds like a place I would love to visit so of course I had to google it, Australia is on my bucket list!

Well if I am going to get the week 4 challenge done, I better sign off. Have a great week everyone!

Sherri, I am so sorry you are feeling bad. Hopefully it means your immune system is really battling it!

Got word from the lawyer that Surrogate Court got the Will went to probate and we should get the Letters of Testamentary soon. I guess that's lawyer talk for the case went to court and will be moving forward soon and that the house will be in my name soon. Hopefully two more weeks which was how long the lawyer originally said it should take.

Progress on house. Kid old bedroom has rugs torn out and newly painted. Basement back room is almost done. Just needs molding and corner fixes. Ceiling was done except for support beams. Flooring for basement arrived today. Got one dresser and one desk out of my bedroom. Still didn't pick out a new desk for my new bedroom. Too many choices... when I find what I like they don't have it in a color I like or it is too big for the area I'm putting it in. I didn't know how much work was involved when we took on this MAJOR remodel. But hopefully in a few months it will be all over!!!

Hope everyone is staying safe and getting the vaccine. I got the both shots. Unfortunately with all the moving things around, and everything blooming, my allergies are starting to act up.

Wafflers, where are you!! I miss it when we are not chatting. I suppose we are all enjoying ourselves with the competition :)

Kids go in tonight for their vaccines. That means everyone in our house will have had the first one. Canada is spreading it out to 16 weeks between doses. I hope there are enough vaccines to decrease that. Country thinks it’s safer to get anyone who wants one at least one shot, rather than fewer with two. Many parts of country are deep into a third wave with hard restrictions put back into place. @route66 how are you doing with Ontario lockdown? My province Alberta went back to step one, but there is major blowback on the restrictions and outright ignoring them.
Kids are still busy with school.
After a really nice March, unusual for March, April has been nice, then snow, then melt, then repeat. We need the moisture though.

Nothing special happening here, except Eren's school is trying in-person concerts today. Parents had to sign up according to what section their child is in, and each band is doing 2 concerts. It'll be interesting to see how this goes.

I'm excited to get through April, because in May, I am going to visit my granddaughter again! I will be her primary caregiver while her mama is working a month-long internship and my son is working as well. I will try to take more pictures this time, but it will be hard because she is more mobile, LOL!

Besides all that, April has been pretty quiet, with the usual activities- scrapping, reading, shopping, housework, etc. We've had some warm days and some cooler days, but we are definitely trending upward there. My allergies are flaring, so I'm mostly avoiding the outside right now, LOL.

I hope everyone is doing well! Hugs to all! :)

Both kids got vaccinated today, first shots. That means everyone in our house has each got the first one. It will be great when Austins friend is eligible too.

We had a bale of hay delivered today for the bunnies, it looks like good hay. The little twerps didn’t like the last bale much, it just wasn’t quality Timothy. The important things in life you know, food for bunnies. Lol.

Its already time to figure out what Austin will do next term for his last few credits for high school graduation he needs. Either return to high school, or do the last two courses online. He misses the people yet at the same time doesn’t miss the people. He has done so well online this past year.

Its weird having both kids at that age that they could leave home, but due to medical stuff neither has or can or most likely will. I’m overwhelmed about it, and they are worried about it. I worry about their safety, health and future so much.

Sherri,

When they are that age and they DO go out, we worry about them no end. They say you worry about your kids until they become adults. HAHAHAHAHA! Biggest laugh ever. You worry about them forever. But, we can't control everything in the world, so you just have to trust you have done a great job raising them and they will go out into the world (eventually) and do amazing things.

Big hug!

I love my plain wedding band. It was my grandmother's. My grandfather gave it to me when he knew Rand and I were going to get married and we used it. I love it so much.

Sparkly jewelry, my favourite is an imperial topaz necklace. Gemstones have such interesting histories.

Quirky jewelry I have a series of REALLY interesting necklaces. I have a whole collection of them.

My favourite gift was a Brighton bracelet with a few charms that my daughter gave me.

I also love the Italian charm bracelets my mother and I collected.

And charm bracelet.... I love my childhood charm bracelet.

And... I love my tiara. Every woman should have a crown.

Hi everyone,

Well life has kicked us in the pants again...just when you thought the house problems were over with...last night while we were enjoying some TV programs, whicch seems to be rare these days; son yells from downstaris, MOM, DAD come quick. BRING TOWELS!!! Now our hot water heater went and water gushed all in my exercise room. Sooo, we called another emergency call and the guy says that our stack did not have a chimney liner so he is not able to do the job right now. We now have to call the furnace peeps to find out what happened when the intalled the new furnace last May and if they will fix it otherwise we are on the hook for it. So today I have no hot water, we all need showers and there is a stack of dirty dishes from yesterday.

I missed getting in the Immunity challenge but was happy with my Week 4 submit, Layouts are outstanding!

Lynnie, sorry I have not been chatty here lately, hope you will excuse my ranting!

Sherri, I am in Manitoba and the restrictions are still being held here with a few liberties however we may go into lockdown again as our numbers climb once again. I can't believe how stupid some people are, so many are not wearing masks and stores are so busy!! I think I mentioned that before, so nothing has changed except that now the other variant form the UK is present here.

We had the snow storm that moved out of Sherri's hometown and the SNOW is still here, uggg. Just transported 1 yard of soil from son's house to ours as he is revamping his backyard and took out all his raised beds. It is all under snow, wet snow, heaviest snow ever!

Well off to solve my world's problems. I will look forward to everyone's Week 5 layouts. Have a great day!

Sherri, I actually do not wear jewelry! But I do wear some sometimes. My favorites are my bracelets I bought or made myself, though I do not wear them often. At least once a week I'll wear my anniversary band which has the diamond from my original engagement ring and two others. I need to slim down some so I can wear it more often.

Karen, so sorry to hear about your water heater! Life is miserable without hot water and we don't realize it until it's gone. There are people her refusing to get the vaccine- it just strikes me as so odd. They are just prolonging the pandemic for all of us. I hope you're able to solve all your world's problems! :)

I have been running myself ragged with work. I managed to get a good bit of scrapping in, and am pleased to have finished the pages for the Holland trip.

My favourite pieces are my grandmother's wedding band and a ring my best friend gave me. Then I have the funny ruby ring. It's currently in pieces (again). Every 4-5 years, the ruby falls out. And it's a funny ruby, because in spite of losing it in a swimming pool, and in an Italian play house, I found it both times and still have the original stone.

Well, water heater is in and hooping to have this weekend to get my house back together.

I managed to get my Wk 5 challenge in early, so proud of myself! It was so much fun to put together while I took a few minutes to remind me how special my grandmother was to me. I can't believe this is the last week...how fast that went! Amazing LO's sumitted this year too! Good luck to those of you that are participating.

It was announced yesterday that I now am eligible for the vaccine....I have a dr. appointment on Tuesday so hope to get it then and if not, hubby and I will make appts for late next week. Hoping others will follow suit and get vaccinated.

And...the weather is supposed to be better, almost ready for BIKE season!

Hoping everyone is well, have a great weekend!

Glad you have water now Karen. Sorry about the snow.

Ane I’m the same way, not much of a jewelry person, I’m allergic to so many metals, it was easier not to wear, than to try to figure out what I could wear.

There were a few pieces I had bought mom over the years, that I was supposed to get but when we were moving her I never found any of her jewelry. I think my niece stole and pawned it for drug money.

I always wanted a mothers ring, but both my kids are July babies, what does one do with two rubies.... I’m amethyst which doesn’t look great with rubies

Once again, I've been nominated for LOTW! My LO is titled "Overalls" and is probably the bluest one there, LOL! I'd love your vote, but if you don't like mine, please vote- there are plenty of beautiful LOs there! :)

What is everyone doing for the weekend? I think I have some gardening in my future, as well as shopping, church, and napping.

I’ve been nominated for bakers best this week so I think voting is next week, a layout titled bunnies in the harden Schulz Use it all challenge. I made a new mattress and cover for the bunny bed, and they were each enjoying it. I’d appreciate a vote if you thinks it’s great,

Sherri, I have a family ring, amethyst - hubby and #1 son, tourmaline, #2 son and diamond for myself so not very flashy but I LOVE it, You should get one!

Oh, and congrats on Baker's Best!

Sorry but I will not make a layout for this week. :( I had one started but life is getting in the way. I need to get my bedroom upstairs all cleared out and packed up except for the necessities. The house should be signed over hopefully within 2 weeks tops. Getting really excited and anxious. Got emotional twice today. Too many memories and too many changes to the work we put into the house downstairs. Too much out with the old and in with the new. Front part of basement had tracks put in for new ceiling. Back room is almost done, just finishing touches. Moved most boxes back there so front can get finished.

I have most of my jewelry packed up as I really don't wear much but a watch and my necklace. I was going to do something about my watch, than I thought of the necklace, than I thought of my HS graduation ring, than I thought of all the jewelry we inherited and really didn't split yet.

Maybe, hopefully, I can find a little time to finish the layout, if not this week, I will get it finished as soon as I have time.

Sorry to hear you won't finish it this week Lily Ann.
I just snuck mine in, Alexis has been so ill, its taken most of my week up. Today is the first day she felt "human" in her words.
I did a watch for my page, as I just do not do jewelry.

Lily Ann, sorry to hear you will not be able to finish, I will miss seeing what you would have created. Hoping everything with the house gets finalized soon so you can enjoy your HOME.

Sherri, I feel for Alexis, she is one brave girl. Hugs to her.

Sylvan, That ruby ring was meant to be!

Lynnie, You should still do a LO on your tiara or charm bracelet, I would love to see it. Ihad a charm bracelet when I was young (sadly no longer have it) but the boys bought me a Pandora last year for my birthday.

Last night I snuck in a LO for the Jumpstart challenge and I was surprised this morning with a Baker's Best nomination. I was in tears as I worked on it, just remembering all the scrapping days Mom and I spent together, real quality time and since her condition has worsened she wanted me to sell her supplies. I was thankful I took the time to sort 100's of pieces of paper as this is where I found the caricatures (along with other important documents). It is here if you want to see it.

and it is snowing again...have a great day and good luck to everyone in the WK 5 challenge.

Life has a way of changing everything.

We've been saving to re-roof our house for a few years now... In the meantime, in no particular order... the washer quit, the dryer quit, the furnace quit, the water heater quit... the replacement furnace quit last December... then...

About a month ago, a big oak tree landed on our sheds during a wind storm. It sounded like two semi hit head on. The lawn mower shed (previously the mule barn) is a complete loss along with the contents. Two-thirds of our lean-to was destroyed, and the main shed suffered damage at the corner of impact where the lean-to was attached. On his days off, Dale and his brother has been working on the lean-to roof. Slowly it's starting to look like a shed again.

Then Thursday my External HD took a powder. I lost all my photos and kits. I had my week 5 survivor layout ready to upload, and had to start over from scratch. Not my best layout, but I made it before the deadline.

Bobbie that is lots going on, huge hugs.

My hard drive crashed in feb, I get that.

Glad you got your lo in.

karen that’s great getting nominated, hope you get it. I did a use it all challenge with a Karen Schulz and my bunny lo was nominated also.

It sounds as though so much has been going on in everyone's life. I think I am just permanently swamped. It is the way I live my life and I don't seem to be able to change. The reality is that when I am not overwhelmed, I am bored. I don't know middle ground.

Right now I am busy cutting out stencils for Karen's Face Painting business (at music festivals). She has participated before, but a festival organizer asked her to head it up this year, which means she has to organize supplies, etc. I have been helping her experiment with face and body paints, stencils, application methods and discussing COVID safety protocols. It is a huge project. You should have seen me the other day, with my legs covered with painted pictures. It was pretty funny. I had to sleep in them to test longevity. Huge project and I have been throwing myself into it (as I do anything!)

I have to keep a list of everything so I don't do anything new. Apparently I lost it this last month!!

Well, I guess my secret is out now. I scrapped all about it for the week 5 layout of Survivor. That is why I've been so quiet this year, that is why I've not been scrapping, in fact I haven't felt much like doing anything.

You know, for a long time I just thought it as a stormy time in my relationship, but the thing is that I feel like I've been the only one trying and I just can't do it any more, it is making my physically ill. It making me not want to get out of bed in the morning and I know that I have to keep moving forward because I do still have the kids to think about.

I told my husband yesterday that I think we need a break. I don't know yet if that means a permanent break or just some time where we can both work on our respective issues (because I know this isn't something that is just him or just me). It really shot daggers through my heart when at the beginning of the year I asked him if he'd do couple's counseling with me and I was told that we didn't need that because I am the one that needs help.

It is like this, if a person can't be loved and respected for trying to do the thing that they feel like is right in their heart, then I don't think that it is healthy to be around the person that is causing them the pain. So for right now, the pain is worse than it has been for a while, but I know that it will pass, eventually. The pain of loss and grief might never quite go away, but it eventually becomes a different kind of pain.

Big hugs Dorann. Getting it out in the open to talk about took courage. Like you said, this too shall pass. Stay strong!

Oh Dorann, I read that and just cried. I am so sorry for EVERYTHING that you're going through. Sharing that so publicly, on your page, took a lot of courage, but I'm sure it helped it some ways too. Even if hubs isn't willing to go to counseling, I hope that you're doing something for yourself. We're here for you too. Sending love and prayers and what strength we can through the wires. Hang tough, girl!

Dorann, (((HUGS))) and extra <3 for you!

I am doing all right most days. I get my second Covid-19 shot today, yippee! I will be fully vaccinated when I go see my granddaughter. :)
