The balloon launches are such a beautiful sight. Unfortunately they are against the law here in New York for the safety of wildlife!

It's so sad to hear that almost everyone is struggling in some way be it from Covid-19 or other family situations.

I made a pledge to myself that every time I post something bad, I will counter it with something good. Maybe we should all do that because I know we all have to vent the bad things! But seeing that there is also something good going on too in these trying times gives everyone a tiny bit of hope.

Bad... my father's therapists says they are going to ask for more time to work with him because he's still not able to do what they wanted to accomplish. Personally, I don't see them making much more progress. The ramp was put in and "supposedly, because I didn't see it myself" he said he's able to go up and down it without any help. The therapist was with him when he tried.

Good... I started work back at the library last week. This is the first week we are open for browsing only (no seats or computers usage). At least it is something going in the right direction. Now lets see if the public is ready to come back!

Stay safe everyone!

Alta, thanks for the best wishes. I feel the same way about going out. Your poor granddaughter.

LilyAnn, how exciting that you are back at the library. I do hope people start coming back. Libraries are magical places.

What a great idea about posting good things...

My Life

Well, bad thing, Mark is still in jail and will be for a while. The bright side of that is that he is showering every day, gets three square meals and is planning on improving his education while he is there. We don't know how long, we won't know for a while, but at least he is looking on the bright side.

I am living in chaos right now. We had a new bookcase (really a craft case) built in our living room. It is designed to hold cubbies of all my crafts. The bad news is I don't like chaos. The good news is that in 24 hours I can fill up my new bookcase, YAY! We also had a new kitchen cabinet added. It has pull out drawers for the rubbish and recycle, has two more drawers, a shelf and a slot for trays and what have you. It also has a place for the microwave and additional appliances. They painted it today and Jose the painter is finishing the doors and drawers at home tonight. He will bring it all back tomorrow and put it together.
I am still in chaos, but I am so happy.

I also submitted my book proposal to the publisher today (did you know I was writing a book?) I will get feedback in about 10 days. I rewrote about 1/2 the book this week and will finish making changes to the other half in the next week or so. Then I have to actually finish it...SO that is all good news.

I also have been scrapping a lot. Not all pages are uploaded, but am so excited that I had hours of uninterrupted scrapping time.

So life is pretty good for the most part.

An author, wow! What did/are you writing about?
Glad things are looking a little better and you had time to scrap. I actually started a layouts last night too, another one of my great niece.
Reading the bad and good did help and left a little smile on my face instead of thinking how bad all things seem.

I agree with LilyAnn, we should post positive things! TO that end, I post my first LO of my first grandchild, Lena.

She is growing well, knows her daddy and her mama, and had her IV taken out today! She's eating like a rockstar, which is especially important for preemies. And I'm grateful for my son and DIL who send us pictures almost every day.

The blah in my life right now is I can't be there with them, and that my days are mostly the same. But we're going to see them in November and I can cope with the daily blahs.

I hope everyone is well, and yes Lynnie, we want to hear about your book! :)

Lynnie, hope all goes well with your book getting published.

Ane, thankyou for sharing this page featuring photos of your precious Granddaughter.

My newest good news is that we now own a newer car. Our old 1989 Ford Fairlane was playing up and to make better was going to cost too much as no doubt more things will start to go wrong with it because of its age. We now own a 2012 Toyota Corolla which I will find a lot easier to drive.
Here is my weekly page featuring the car:

LilyAnn, I did love reading about the good and the bad. I will put a synopsis of the book at the end.

Ane, Lena is so very tiny. Look at her holding that one finger and those tiny little legs. How precious. Love this!

Anne-Marie, Love the new car. I love my Corolla, I have a 2014, but it is my favourite car ever.

Me:

ok - my book - I can't believe I have not mentioned it before. It is called "The Last Gift."

Here is the overview.
When Kevin and Kate lose their only child, they are in the darkest time of their lives. Kevin has lost his wife, his child, and his will to write. Kate has lost everything that made her life worthwhile. Then, during a winter of sorrow, spring comes in the form of a message from their daughter, a series of tasks that will lead them along a path of healing. They begin a journey together that exposes old hurts, buried anger, and bitter pain. The story examines the breakdown of their marriage and the healing that happens between them because of this gift. Along the pathway to healing, however, they must face a bitter hurt that had caused a painful, and perhaps irreconcilable, rift between them.

Okay Lynnie, I am intrigued, I want to read it. When you get it published, can I get an author's copy?

Me, this week has been full of ups and downs. The bad for the week, I still haven't been able to find a new place to live and that is really bringing me down. The good, we went to visit a lake this past weekend with the kids and one of my really good friends and her family. It was a blast. Oh, and since I've got my own car back now I am able to spend more time working so I can get the finances back where I want them.

I am so grateful for my life. I come and read all the hardships each of you are facing and am so very grateful of where I am. I pray for each of you. On August 7th I will have been married to my wonderful husband for 50 years. My children are celebrating with us this weekend. Some are already here and all but one daughter will be here by tomorrow. She is not coming because she has a son who has health issues and with covid-19 does not want to take the chance of him getting it. Otherwise they all would have been here. Life is going great here and we are staying healthy. I have been able to go to work and love all the bosses. I wish each of you great health and happy families. I hope each of you can have the wishes of your hearts.

Katherine glad to hear you and your family are doing well and you are enjoying life right now!

Bad, my father has his last OT today and he said he hates the woman and is going to tell her off today. That's why he has no friends and is driving everyone away.

Good, I went on an interview yesterday and have another one today. I received at least 15 canvas letters since the Civil Service test results were posted. Total of 4 interviews (one I had to cancel because I was asked to start back at the library that day). Most letters are from schools. Yesterday's interview was from Dept. of Health. I got a canvas letter from Public Works yesterday. That one seems nice. Hope they call! The library, although civil service for a full time position, isn't currently hiring because of Covid. I actually took the test hoping for a full time position there. Only time will tell, I guess.

Lynnie, that book sounds WONDERFUL!!! I can't wait to read it. I'd love a signed copy when it comes out please! Prayers for everything going on in your life.

LilyAnn, God Bless you for all you put up with and your attitude. Good luck with the continued job search and your father. Beautiful Grand-niece.

Alta, Bubble-wrap, GOOD IDEA!

Sherri, my love. Oh my gosh, dear friend. I hope things get better for our sweet Alexis. I pray for her all the time. I need that danged magic wand, but alas it fails me now.

Ane, Lena is AMAZING!!! What a SUPER-BABY!!!

Anne-Marie, GREAT CAR! That was our daughter's dream car when she was young. She wanted a coupe, but wanted a Corolla. So much fun getting a car you can depend on again.

Right, Dorann! OMGosh sweetie! Good luck on the house search. Saying prayers for you too!

And Rae...... whatever's going on, keep going!

FIFTY YEARS KATHERINE!!! WOOHOO!!! Had to finish with that one. That's amazing girl! Congrats to you and hubby. That's so wonderful. We're about 11 years behind you. Have a wonderful weekend with your family. Sorry they can't all be there, but totally understandable.

Be safe. Stay Gold. God Bless. Love y'all!

I am going to try and share something silly I did for my cousin this morning before work, I know it's a bit big, but I can't figure out how to resize it here without reuploading it somewhere:

Work has kept me away from a lot of fun things lately, we did have a nice weekend in Liguria the week past, but almost no pictures- just sunburn.

Sneaks in to wave hello to all you lovely ladies.
Been a while since I have been able to sit & scrap, Life just took over for a bit
Hope everyone is well, will scroll back when I have a few moments & see what you have all been up to!

Just off to bed here as I have a huge day tomorrow & should have been in bed an hour ago

Hope you are all keeping safe and well.
For me here in Australia, it is the first day of August so I have just now started my Art Journal challenge for August which you can find HERE

Here's another layout with my great niece. I can't believe how small she actually was as shown by her first foot print.

Can't wait to actually go and hold Mikayla and squeeze those chunky cheecks!

I hope everyone is doing well!

I had a pretty good weekend. Yesterday, I went shopping with hubby. It's kind of like our weekly date. I also worked on clearing off our desks in the family room. Hubby built a table for us to use our computers on instead. So we cleaned them up and donated them to a family that needed them. We installed the table last night and I got my computer back together this afternoon after church and a nap. Everything is much tidier and up off the floor. I can now feel the air coming from the vent in the floor.

Dorann - you may absolutely get a copy :) You can be a beta reader if you like. You just have to promise to be honest. I will survive if it is not that good.

Katherine - 50 years is amazing.

Lily Ann, you have your hands full with your father! It sounds as though you are going full blast with your job hunting. Good luck. Your niece is just precious - how tiny and how amazing she is getting so big.

Sylfie - that pictures is wonderful.

Sam, I totally get it, life does get in the way.

Anne-Marie - SO excited about the Art Journal Challenge for August! Dream - what a lovely word.

Ane
- sounds like a lovely, fairly relaxing weekend :)

Carla - absolutely :) Signed copies when it is published. Of course, I have to finish it first!

Good afternoon ladies. I've been busy with life. Having my daughter and her cat here have changed my schedule a lot (but in a good way). I'm not scrapping as often as I used to, I'm spending more time with family and with it being summer, getting outdoors more too. We've been able to start seeing my GD again since her chemo treatment. She was quarantined from all of us for about 6 wks. We still have to wear mask and gloves indoors with her, so with it being so hot out lately we've been getting outdoors with her for walks instead. We can take our mask off outdoors as long as we social distance from her.

Hope everyone is well.

Lynnie, I promise to be honest and would be honored to be able to do that for you when the time comes.

For me, I am so devastated right now, I found out this evening that one of my online friends lost her youngest daughter today. This is someone that I've never met in person, but she and her family mean a lot to me. Just please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.

Dorann - that is so sad to hear.

I'm working and scrapping today but just popping in to say good morning and hope you all have a good day.

Droann: sorry to read of your sad news

Lilyann : thank you for sharing the link to the story with us

Good morning ladies. The week has flown by. I am optimistic that I will have time to meal plan, scrap and get some things done around the house the next few days. I have a busy work day ahead but am looking forward to the wkend. I am hoping to get out tomorrow morning for a jog with Taz, I've not done that for months. It's time to get back into it.

Have a good day everyone.

Hope you are all keeping safe and well.
For me here in Australia, it is the first day of August so I have just now started my Art Journal challenge for August which you can find HERE

Thank you for drawng my attention to this challenge,I hadn’t seen it, I love to art journal

Y'all aren't going to believe this, but I've been nominated for LOTW again. I'd really appreciate your vote, if you like mine (the very last one) but please do vote- not many people do. Thanks! You can vote HERE.

Good morning, ladies. It has cooled off around here and I'm glad the heat wave is over. I like the milder temps more. My daughter and I have gotten back into jogging and am getting out 3 times a week, it feels good. I've also transitioned over to a plant based diet after 4 yrs of keto/paleo. It's a bit of an adjustment but am really happy with it.

I'm getting to work now, trying to get my desk work done earlier in the day so I can hang out with family later in the day. I'm used to lounging more in the morning so I have to push myself to start my work sooner but it sure is nice to have more family time later in the day when hubs and daughter come home from work.

Stay healthy and safe everyone. BFN
