Sherri - I have been watching the Girl's adventures with interest. I loved the video of the dog-sledding. Good luck to the Boy!

Wow, it looks like maybe I should update my siggie haha!! Maybe I'll have a new one for the next month before the next Survivor!

Well this week has gotten a bit of a rocky start. I’ve had plenty of downtime to make comments in the gallery which has been nice! I am participating in the trial month for the Cookies so I have been trying to spend a good amount of time in the gallery.

Last week my school was closed Thursday & Fri for the flu and I found out that my ear tubes are inflamed. Today, I lasted about an hour at school before getting someone to fill in for me and then I ended up having an emergency root canal. Oh my I feel so much better! Apparently the pain from the tooth had been making the trouble with my ears so much worse. I am looking forward to being back at school tomorrow and getting back into my normal routine.

I did not watch the Super Bowl last night, I actually completely forgot it was this weekend. My family is not big into sports, but I usually at least watch half time. This weekend I am participating in our zoo’s Zoo Run with a friend of mine and her son so I am greatly looking forward to that!

INSTANT POT!
Me, too! I love it. I belong to a facebook group and I am surprised at how many people own them and are terrified of them and have never opened the box.

I got one from the boys for Christmas and the first time I went to use it I got worried that I didn't seal it prperly so I quickly opened it and put the chicken in the oven. LOL My boys found out (hubby blabbed) and they shook their heads. I am good with it now. Where does everyone find recipes from?

Sherri, I have been checking out your girl's trip...her photos are awesome. I watched the dog sledding video too...I would love to do that! She looks so happy living her dream!

Elyanna, Sorry to hear about your ears and a root canal...I just had to have a tooth fixed and it eded up 2 teeth fixed.I was in the chair for over 1 1/2 hours and it took 4 freezings. Still is sensitive to hot and cold. That zoo zoo run sounds fun...is it like a marathon?

Three more days at work then it vacation time...can't come fast enough. So have to get organized on Friday. I signed up the boys and the grand daugheter and myself for a Jack Frost challenge. It is a challenge to do winter activities and you have a chance to win prizes. Our team name is Frobocops (derived from the Frobisher family). We had fun skating yesterday and I have committed to walkin outside this week rather than in indoors. It was chilly today but so refreshing when you get back to the stuffy office. Next Saturday there is free snowshoing and riding fat bikes in the snow. Stay tuned for some more snow layouts.

No Super Bowl for me...I am a hockey girl and our team is not doing to well this year but I still love to go to the games whenever I am invited (son has season passes).

Have a great week everyone!

Karen - I belong to an Instant Pot Beginners Facebook group Instant Pot 101 for Beginners. I also Google recipes and only pick the ones with lots of stars, or that someone in the group has recommended. I mostly make mine up. I don't do a lot of complicated stuff, I have a list of how long to cook what. I make lots of soups, stews, roasts, chicken, etc. Best purchase I ever made.

I love commenting on layouts - it is hard to get into the swing of finding something specific about the layout to discuss in the comment - not just saying how much you love the picture, etc. Sometimes mine sound like a teacher grading an art project - my comments are a work in progress.

I am glad the root canal resolved the ear issues. That is a painful thing to have problems with. I had a sinus infection when I left England last week and the airplane descent was so painful my eyes teared up. I am still not hearing too well, and today is my last antibiotic.

SO funny - I updated mine this month. I did change it a month of so after Survivor 9. I am not sure if I will do it again or not this year. I might just scrap along. It is too much pressure. I won the year before and I came second last year. Could my ego handle it if I did not make it past the first round...
hehe

Even if I don't, I might run a Wafflers' Alliance :)

It’s a 5k I think.. It’s pretty small which will be nice because I’ve not done one before. I’m going to try and bring my camera so I should have some good scrapbooking material afterwards!

Yes I find it similar to analyzing my students work. Sometimes it’s hard to write out what exactly I like about the layout but I think this will ultimately help me improve my scrapbooking skills as I begin to recognize the pieces of other layouts that I really like!

:shock Oh, I do hope you change your mind and decide to participate!! You were an awesome leader/cheerleader for the team last year! I do understand the pressure though - it is definitely a lot, but so so fun.

Karen - I haven't made very many things in my Instant Pot yet, but I have found a few recipes my family likes and have made them each a few times. Macaroni and cheese (with a taco mac variation), brocolli cheese soup, and "baked" ziti are the hits so far. I found all of them on Pinterest. I can link them up later. I also use it to cook jasmine rice a lot for my lunch. I did do pork chops in it once, but we are not a big meat eating family, so nobody raved about that.

Talking about Survivor, I have to say that I get excited thinking about it and though I've never really made it all that far, I have had a lot of fun with it in the past and look forward to it again.

So, I have been pretty stressed with work. The other two official Inventory Supervisors and myself have been pushed and perhaps just a little bit too hard. We are all three pretty stressed out and over the weekend it nearly came to a head with one of them. I had gotten word that he'd quit but the truth is that he just said if they didn't get their stuff together that he wanted to step down. His pay has been wrong and he was pretty upset about it (I would be too if it happened to me, but I watch my money like a hawk so that has yet to happen to me.)

But today was a pretty good and relaxed day. We got the job done and then I got set up for tomorrow.

I notice the mention of Survivor.... is it happening this year? I have never taken part before and thought I would try this year.

I sure hope it happens this year, because it is like an addiction. You really should try, it is so much fun!

I participated the year it was the pirate and deserted island theme... many years ago, I don’t remember getting very far but it was fun. I will join up if it happens this year!

Whether I participate or not, we WILL have a Wafflers' Alliance. I loved doing the Alliance last time and will DEFINITELY do it again this time. I would like it to be only true Wafflers, though, people who post in our forum, even infrequently. I don't want folks who join just because we are a great Alliance...

And I may participate...it was loads of fun!

I taught my graphics class last night. I dragged my feet in there wishing I could go home and they had to kick me out at the end I was having so much fun. I love to teach :) I think I will keep teaching there.

Good morning, ladies. I've had a busy couple of weeks, lots of desk work, lots of household chores and family stuff. Life has been good, somewhat boring but just busy.

I think getting out and taking photos of the birds and squirrels many mornings has decreased my computer/scrapping time but that's ok, I'm enjoying it and not giving that up. It's all about balance and I know that some days I have to pull myself away and come back in to get other things done. I get outside with the camera and time sort of melts away :) Then I realize, darn it, I should have started my desk work an hour ago LOL. I sure can't wait to retire and have "me" time all the time :)

It's snowing today, about 7" they say but its wet snow and tomorrow the rain comes back. Lots more flooding coming. I've never seen the river so high, it washed out the path in many spots and they had to close it down. Many streets have been flooded and closed down over the last wk. Now with snow again and lots more rain starting tomorrow the flooding is going to get even worse. I've never seen it like this in all the 40+ years I've lived here. But...Taz will love going for a walk later in the snow :)

Lynnie - I love my IP. I have 2. I may not enjoy cooking much anymore but I sure love my gadgets, especially if they make it easier or faster to get meals prepared. My fave things this past yr is the IP, air fryer and spiralizer. BTW....thx for your sweet words on my pages. You have such a way of expressing yourself. I think if we met IRL we'd have a great time chatting away.

Didn't watch the Super Bowl but saw the halftime show later on YT. I know there is a lot of controversy about it but for me...I just enjoyed seeing both women put on strong performances and loved the energy, appreciating the tremendous amount of stamina and strength they must both have. Hubs wasn't impressed but then, he's not a fan of either JLo or Shakiri.

Not much TV binge watching the last few days and not even reading much but so far I am enjoying "The Silent Patient" (our BOTM Club pick). Come check out the book club if you haven't already. We're having fun.

Dorann - sorry to hear work has been stressful. Hope that's the exception not the rule at your job.

Anne-Marie - I've never particpated in the Survivor before either. Not sure if my schedule will allow me to, it might be more than I can handle. I'll have to look into it more. If I don't particpate, I'll be there to cheer everyone on!

Wafflers Alliance....what is that???

Anyway, I'd better get to work before I take Taz out to play in the snow and maybe take a few bird pics later, not many b/c it is snowing which isn't so pretty in the pics but I might see if under the tree I can get some clearer shots. Maybe.

Have a great day everyone!

When you participate in Survivor, you can join an Alliance where people (theoretically) vote for each other to increase your chances of winning. The Wafflers' Alliance started out with people in this group.

I know what you mean about teaching, Lynnie. I always dread it in the lead up but then really enjoy it 95% of the time- and that 5% I don't it's usually frustration over external forces intruding.

I have been working double-time doing PA-for-hire and work-work, and not scrapping near enough to unwind, so that's on the books for tonight!

My class is an easy graphics class for seniors, no pressure at all... No grading. It is pretty easy.

Glad to see you have finally posted a layout :) Love the journaling on it.

When I teach it's either for work, so highly-technical, very pressured stuff OR English for kids ages 6-10. I really, really prefer teaching English to kids. lol

I used to do a lot of compliance training at work for mutual funds. I am glad I don't do that any more. 21 working days until I retire YAY.

Ooooh the countdown is on! Have you been making big plans for your first days of freedom? I'm almost done spamming for the evening, I think. Haha.

Oh - the usual - spring clean my house - join clubs - walk every day - go on a diet - cook more - take a ballet class (haha, JK).

I love going for drives and taking photos of scenery and birds. One day one of my co-workers told me they liked the bird pictures but not so much the leafless trees. I like both and will keep doing both. I will be going to Washington to see my granddaughter go to the temple. I am excited because I will get to see three of my girls that live either in Washington or Arizona.
I wish all of you better health for you and your family.
I will be quitting my job either the end or April or 1st of May. I am excited about that because I will have more time to scrap and go out taking photos.
After finding out I had Afib, I think I am doing better now. I am really trying to lose some weight so I don't have to take a sleep study test.
I am excited about Survivor. I just looked up when sign-ups were last year and it was in February. I am wishing the first layout would not be until after March 10th. I will be back from Washington then and can concentrate better on layouts.
Wishing everyone the best
