Oh dear Lynnie!!! I am so sorry you are hurting, your injuries look so painful and no doubt there will be lots of impact soreness on the rest of your body. Take care. It is such a terrible feeling to fall....out of control....you know its happening....you cant do anything....and it seems to go in slow motion.

I actually have no idea how I fell, but my arms are pretty sore. My face definitely took the most impact and it very badly bruised. The doc said my nose is certainly broken, but doesn't think it will be too awful looking when the swelling goes down :) My daughter said it looks like a beautiful sunset - or a purple butterfly - she is not sure which!

Hullo ladies,
I am very absent, but I promise I'm just strained. No time for crafting or fun. :(

Sylfie, I hope things get easier soon and you have loads of time for crafting.

Anyone got great plans for the weekend. 4th July is coming up... does anyone have any fun ideas for activities during this strange times?

Sorry I missed the voting Ane, it is a lovely LO!

I didn't even notice until I got the e-mail this morning, but thank you, Lynnie, for nominating me for Layout of the Week! :)

Looks like I've got stiff competition, but I'd appreciate your vote HERE. Thank you! Mine's called The Dress.

Oh so sorry to hear Lynnie! I broke my nose too when I was 10 yo and it healed very well (can't even notice it was broken). I am hoping you are healing well.

It got worse. Doc said it is definitely broken, but no major damage.

Good morning, ladies.
Lynnie - hope you are recovering quickly.
Lily Ann - we've filled our propane tanks, we ran out and didn't BBQ for a few wks, I missed it. We BBQ all yr round.

We were busy all day yesterday with the purging, sorting, moving things around. Brought one big load to charity and another to the city dump. My daughter spent the night at her apartment and will stay there until dinner tonight, packing up a lot of her stuff and then tomorrow her and hubs will move her kitchen stuff over to the storage. Hubs took a few days off work to help her. My work will be busy this coming wk as the medical office I transcribe for will be re-opening on Monday so I expect it'll be a crazy wk.

It has been such a busy wkend that I woke up thinking it was Monday. We have a guy coming back on Monday to pick up some furniture we are giving him (the family just moved here from South Africa and am starting a new life here). We had advertised some free stuff on FB and after meeting him yesteday and chatting for a bit as he picked up a few things, we offered him other pieces of furniture, so he'll come back for those. I asked hubs what time today the family is coming back and I was surprised when he told me it was Sunday....so not til tomorrow LOL. My tired old brain thought for sure it was Monday. I plan to slow down a little bit today and will do some CT work in between purging and sorting. I don't want to screw up my back which is feeling much better now so no heavy lifting for me today.

So, that's my life right now, lots of home focused stuff and in a few wks my daughter will be all moved in here.

I'd better get another coffee and get on with my day. BFN.

Sorry for the late catch-up when I said I was going to be more present here. Things are so busy with working between home and office and looking after Mom. Her spirits have been up and down for the past few months so it is difficult. Then to add to the mix I decided to finally clean out most of my scrapping supply and keep only what I need to create cards and a few other projects. And I cleaned out MOM's too so I had loads to sort, chuck, sell and give-away. Since we are allowed to have garage sales I had a craft supply sale this weekend and made over $225 so I was pleased with my efforts. I am slowly putting other items on-line and selling the rest that way but it is a daunting process. In August when our local scrap store does a charity drive, if anything is left it will be donated there. Scrapping has been almost non-existent and I took a break for a while from my CT duties with Magical Scraps Galore. Everything was just too overwhelming.

So...today I am off for mini-vacation with the family, we are off for a three-day fishing trip about 1 1/2 hours away. My son rented a cabin with 3 bedrooms, a fishing boat for 1 day and kayaks for 1 day. Then there will be loads of play time with my grand-daughter. Time with the family is time well spent!

I hope everyone is keeping well and safe following so many sad world events.

Karen, thank you! :)

It's been a pretty quiet weekend. Hubby did the shopping yesterday as I was in pain much of the day. We had one of Eren's friends over later and it was nice to have a non-family member over at our house. Today we had church at home and will go back to church in our building July 12, with a lot of changes, but it is good news. Also, my son came home from a short trip to California, and he now has a girlfriend, which is exciting news. I think she will be good for him.

Keep healing Lynnie, and everyone stay safe!

I thought I would have a peaceful day. I spend the last four days helping around son Steven's house with baby Bruce, since Steven was working. I had a lovely time, but thought I would help them out and did dishes and what have you while I helped watch Bruce. I got lots of grandson cuddles, which is the best part. I did not get much done at home, though. It is so busy here. I am getting a custom shelf built for all my crafts and books (a massive shelf!) but it means a lot of disruption in the meantime. I don't do well with disruption. Karen is coming over to pick up her favourite piece of furniture here. We call it the 'odd-shaped cabinet.' my father-in-law built it around a broken piece of mirror and it has odd little drawers here there and everywhere. The kids used to hide in one of the little cupboards and Karen's dog chewed the edge of one of the drawers when she was a pup. Karen is so thrilled to own it. I will miss it, it has been much loved.

IN the meantime, I have also had come custom drawers built for under the kitchen counters. I bought matching handles for them and have had them on my desk for weeks. I had them this morning, because I was going to see the cabinet maker today and now I can't find them anywhere. I am so frustrated. I will taken my office apart in a bit. Hopefully I will find them.

Good morning ladies. We got so much done over the last 5 days or so. We're all exhausted but happy with the progress we are making with the move/storage/purging we are doing to get my daughter moved in. I will have lots of organizing to do later when all the furniture has been moved in and moved around and the storage locker filled up with what we'll store until we sell this house in a few yrs. I have two cabinets in my office from my old scrap room (now my daughter's bedroom) and another one in the back room of the basement. That one I will put my photography stuff in and the ones in my office will hold a lot of my scrapbooking supplies I want to keep. We've done 5 trips to the city dump/recycling and 4 trips for charity drop-off. I can't believe how much stuff we have in this house LOL.

Hubs drilled into his thumb so spent Sunday morning at the hospital getting stitches. They wouldn't let me in so I had to drop him off and pick him up in the afternoon. Luckily no major damage done.

I'm looking forward to when this is all done and we can get settled into all living together now. My daughter is thrilled with her bedroom, it's the biggest one in the house (it was originally the family rec room downstairs) so she'll have a lounging area with a loveseat with her big screen on the wall for some quiet time alone and lots of room for her bedroom furniture. I put up a few wardrobe racks in the upstairs spare bedroom so I'll be storing all my off season clothes in there. Everything is getting so organized.

So, that's why I'm only around sporadically :) Take care everyone.
Karen - enjoy the holiday.
Lynnie - sounds like you are having fun with family.

BFN

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I've been nominated for LOTW again! Mine is titled "Beautiful" and you can vote HERE. If you don't like mine, please do vote for one you do like. So few people vote for LOTW.

For those interested I have now just posted my very first Challenge Hosting here at Ginger Scraps. It is an Art Journaling challenge so no cutesy memory pages. You can find in the Random Challenge section HERE

THANK YOU!

If you have a heart for art - let's support Anne-Marie in her new challenge here.

Make sure you all have a good look at the Art Journal page that Lynnie created. It needs to be printed and put on display.

Awww - thank you :) I had a great time creating it. I can't believe we have to wait for a month for the next challenge! This was a fun and a bit of a stretch for me. I do have a few artsy pages, but not many.

Hope everyone is doing well. Whoever thought this would drag on so long. Is everyone keeping their spirits up or are we in need of a view socially distanced hugs?

What is everyone doing this weekend? We are off to see son Steven and grandson Bruce. DIL Nessa is working... We are taking my mother. They are pretty careful, and my mother is really wanting to be out a bit.

to those who celebrate!

It is Sunday morning here in Australia and we have our first frost for the year. Strangely I look forward to it as we do not get many where I now live. Where we lived before we had lots of frosts and some of them very heavy.

We are having awesome burgers at home. DS is the only one who's gone somewhere, and that's work. We've done some cleaning and some loafing around. Tomorrow we'll have church at home, make some ice cream, and DH and Eren will go to the town's fireworks (volunteering for a band fundraiser). The fireworks show we usually go to in a nearby town was cancelled.

Just came back from the lake, a wonderful 3 days with my family. Loads of fun fishing and I tried kayaking and LOVED it. Can't wait to scrap all the photos but now back to work.

We had a great 4th July!

Golf Cart parade in our community - over SIXTY golf carts decorated for the day.

We went to son Steven's and he made great hotdogs and Karen made fabulous vegan burgers.

Grandson Bruce was adorable.

DIL Nessa came home from work early and we had a wonderful time together.

We watched Hamilton last night - I almost turned it off because the music at the beginning was not my style - sort of the opposite of what I like, but I think Lin Manuel Miranda is a great talent and persisted. Anyway, we ended up loving it. I want to watch it again.

Hi everyone, its been ages since I have been to GS, or at least it seems like it has.
Not even on fb all that much.
So much stress in my house, with my family, I am really struggling.
However I got alexis to go with me to an outdoor, drive in concert, for Canada Day and then the fireworks afterwards were awesome. I think it cheered us both up, if even temporarily. Has anyone seen any new Canada kits, or anything released this month that is Canada related. I see a tonne of USA stuff in store.
How is everyone else doing? Happy 4th, on the 5th already I guess. Can't sleep so I am up.
take care. be safe.

Had a surprisingly fun holiday. My husband got called to do some driving. I texted my sister to see what she was doing and she had no plans so the kids and I went over with our bathing suits. We stopped at my nephew's house to see his new baby. I don't know if I told you but little Mikayla was born premie and 1 lb 8 oz on Feb. 15 and has only been home for a few weeks now. No one is actually allowed by the baby due to Covid but we saw the tiny thing, just over 8 lbs now, through our car window. We went on to my sisters where we went swimming (or should a say standing) in her pool. We stayed for dinner although it wasn't BBQ we did enjoy the food and company. Our biggest topic of conversation was the deteriorating health and behavior of my father.
I do feel a little better after the visit but this whole situation with my father is very stressful.

Happy 4th everyone! (Only a day late)
We are spending the weekend at the lake.. got a few boat rides in - saw a beautiful hawk today that let us bring the boat right up next to him.. Think I may have gotten some good shots! We could see some of the fireworks last night that were around us, good definitely hear them! I've been working on some firefly composition shots the past few nights. I was hoping to snag the full moon but my dog wasn't enjoying the idea of me going back outside so I stayed in.. Hope everyone is having a fun weekend!

Sherri, it is lovely to see you. I am glad you dropped in. It sounds as though the infusions are not as helpful to Alexis as you had hoped.

Nothing new was released for Canada that I saw. In fact, in the store, we only have the following. I opened up an ISO thread for Canada Day and Anzac Day here, there is nothing in the store for that. The ISO can be found here:

Connie often has a Canada day in her July packs, but other than that and the above so few things just devoted to Canada.

Good morning, ladies. We've been busy all wkend with the pre-move stuff. I'm finally sitting down for a few minutes before taking Taz out for a short walk and then will head out to drop off another load to charity. I'll be glad when next wkend is over so I can start getting back to whatever normal is going to be like around here.

I'm going to take lots of photos of Noel this week. He recovered well from his last surgery (he's had 3 over the past couple of months) but I think this time it's recurring quicker. The vet doesn't know what is causing the fistula that is infected and can only do surgery to clean and stitch each time we bring him in. He's old, has kidney and liver disease, and is slowing down a lot. So we're giving him lots of attention and cuddling and I'll take lots of photos b/c I think we'll all enjoy those later. Poor little guy. It's hard when our fur babies are getting close to their end. But, he might surprise us and hang in there for a bit still. Hope so.

So, not much happening with me these past few weeks, just lots of lifting, moving, purging, sorting....so much work but soon it'll all be done.

Take care everyone BFN
