Musicals!

How about a kit inspired by various musicals, with iconic quotes and symbols.

IDEAS!

525,600 minutes (yes, Connie has this in a recent kit--what sparked the idea)
No day but today
Le vie boheme
On my own
I dreamed a dream
One singular sensation
Defying gravity
Let the green girl go!
The music man
Don't rain on my parade

And probably a bunch more, but I'm at work right now and doing this on the DL, so I will let others chime in. ;)

I love this idea! As I was reading through the list I found myself linking them to a designer ... It'll be fun to see if designers interested in pursuing the idea will match up to what I was thinking ...

I saw Wicked last year ... it was such a joy to watch (and hear).

This year, the shows coming to town that I'm interested in seeing are:
Monty Python's SPAMALOT (this one is more for the hubs ... he loves this kind of comedy)
Mary Poppin's (gotta see this one!)
Les Miserables
West Side Story

There are SO many great quotes from musicals that could be used for word art. These are the kinds of movies I grew up on, and I really can't stop thinking of ideas. "Shall we dance?" "Getting to know you" "Wouldn't it be loverly?" "These are a few of my favorite things" etc. It could even be a whole series, with one kit devoted to each different musical, and then another option of buying the whole bundle. Awesome idea, Ambelleina!

So would you want them themed around the story of the musical or just the feeling? What are you really looking for in these kits? (sorry I find this really interesting, what it is about a kit that gets a person to buy it.)

Like Les Mis seems like it would be very down and sad, dark moody colors, little bits that remind you of characters. Where as Wicked would be bright and colorful with witchy touches and such. I've read the book (Wicked) but have not seen the musical I'm not completely sure how true one is to the other.

I'm thinking just musicals in generals, with of course things like a spotlight, a Playbill, music notes, and other generic things but then random quotes and song titles, little abstract-looking ellies that resemble characters.

Ooohoooh, can't forget:

"Follow the yellow brick road."

:)

i have not had the fortune to see any musicals live but i own them all...ok sort of...my range of musicals is definitely on a different track
