Hi everyone! hope you all are doing well!
For the month of March, we will be reading
remarkably.jpg
Remarkably bright creatures by Shelby Van Pelt (Goodreads description)
It's an adult magical realism - mystery fiction. Includes interesting characters like a giant octopus, which contribute a lot to the story. We will discuss the book all month long.
Just to recap, we'll be reading books that you all choose through a vote from 11th to 18th, we will follow this outline, for a better organization, and to give a chance to everyone to get the books on time. So, please start suggesting books you'd like us to read together IN THIS THREAD, all genres are welcome, and you can add as many as you like!
Thank you so much for reading, and I hope several of you will choose to join us.
Wonderful weekend everyone!

It is scheduled to be released as a movie on Netflix on May 8th - I read the book a few years ago and it is a wonderful story and beautifully written. I will have to re-read it for the book club :)

It's one of the movies I'll really enjoy watching! so glad to have you in our book club, dear Lynnie!

Yes exactly what I was thinking!! We will have to pop back into the discussion thread once we all watch the movie in May and share what we thought about it.
That's a great idea :) I really enjoy comparing the book to the series or the movie. Last year I read Normal People, and immediately I watched the series. The series changed the ending, but it was more or less faithful to the book, even in the dialogue, which I really loved, however, I still prefer the book, because the end was better.

I was unsure whether to get this book as it does not sound like the sort of story I would like but I was able to get it for my kindle and it did not cost too much.

I have just today watched the movie on Netflix!! A total delight! Have yet to read the book, I'm still way down the wait list...yikes!!

@Jill I just watched the trailer for the movie and it looks like they made a good job of following the book. Hopefully I will get to see the movie one day.

I'm planning to watch the movie the next week :) I'll come back to this thread and comment after watching it

@Jill I discovered an Australian site where I buy DVDs from has this one on pre-order. I might wait until it is really available and purchase it. I think if it is a good enough movie , it would be one I would watch more than once. I do not buy DVDs unless I think I will watch it more than the once.
