Junk Journal Spread With Jumpstart Designs "Down Memory Lane"

Tamsin McAtee

Designer: The Brit Chick
I started doing Junk Journaling for my personal fun, and I used Sheri's (Jumpstart Designs) new kit Down memory Lane. It prints so beautifully and the colors are so vibrant, Although I have physically scrapbooked before, Junk journaling is a little less organized as it were and I kinda like that. Anyway this is my double spread. I did use other embellishments not in the kit also. Hope you like it

These are beautiful! I've always wanted to learn how to make a junk journal, but never had the guts to try.

Thankyou Tamsin so much. What you have created looks great. You have inspired me to do some altered art as I thought I would need to try and buy some physical pieces but you have made me realise I can print and use digital art for my altered books. I used to own a lot of paper bits and pieces of memorabilia but that all got thrown out when our home was flooded last year.

I am now a little excited to get busy creating! :36_1_33:

Two thumbs up...and four paws as the grand doggie is here too. Your junk journaling is simply marvelous. It has a beauty all its own and is a very precious type of art.

There are sooooo many ways to use our GS kits besides traditional scrapbooking. EACH art form has its own purpose and each purpose needs to be encouraged AND enjoyed. I am thrilled that you chose junk journaling...cos lady, you are talented at it!

Oh my gosh! I love this!!!! I'm so happy this collection gives you the options to do that. I'm going to include more of that kind of thing in the future! Keep 'em coming lady!

I love this! I also make junk journals as well as altered books using scrapbooking kits. I also use some in my bible journaling and in planning.

this is gorgeous!!! Do you do a lot of hybrid junk journaling?

@migirl3000 I have dabbled in this form of art many year ago.
I found this explanation on the internet:

Junk journaling is the creative practice of repurposing, recycling, and upcycling discarded items—such as junk mail, packaging, old book pages, and ephemera—to create a handmade, personalized keepsake book. It is a rule-free form of art journaling that combines collage, memory-keeping, and writing to document life in a rustic, textured, and environmentally conscious way.

I about fell off my chair when I saw this. I have been designing a few digital junk journals and wondering if I should bother ever putting them in the shop because I didn't think junk journalers would be on this site. That's crazy! LOL

I love the look of junk journaling. The artistic freedom really calls to my soul. Thanks for sharing your beautiful journal and inspiration!

@Jumpstart Designs Sheri, please be aware that this is an old thread.
I personally would enjoy seeing what you have designed for junkjournaling as it may inspire me to dabble in altered art again.
