I'm starting to read this book today

I also am just starting. I downloaded it the other day, but have been busy and have barely started!

I started this book yesterday.

I love regency romances. and this one was no exception!

I finished the book!

I finished the book two weeks ago, but I had been so busy both at work and at home that I didn't have a chance to write about it. One thing that I love about these romances is that the time period was so long ago, that certain things didn't exist, and PDA was supposed to be almost non-existent. Here is one quote: " 'Did you draw any unclothed men?' Apollonia asked with a trace of mischief." Here's another one: "His cheeks were already pink with drink."

I was really surprised that Rosalind had anything to do with the forged painting! I did not see that coming. Here he was without money, and she turns out to be involved in forging. I'm just glad that in the end they got together and that her father thought well of him, since he couldn't find any indiscretions. Her father had been such a thorn in the relationship. I know I'm forgetting a lot, so maybe others who read this will jog my memory with their discussion. This was a real page-turner for me!

I finished this book today and enjoyed the ending but it was sort of predictable.

I found this not a very fast moving story but I did enjoy the bits of light comedy in it and enjoyed the romance. From the start I guessed that the sham marriage but end up being one made of love on both sides. It was a surprise to discover that Rosalind was the one who forged the painting that Henry's father bought and in a sense helped cause the bad financial situation. I was so pleased that Rosalind's father helped her make things right and was so emotional at the wedding. I think I would possibly buy the next book in the series.
