July 1st 2017 Canada turns 150 years old

huge celebrations going on this year, it would be great to see a kit geared towards that.

I would love a Canada 150 kit! My husband and I are doing the Vimy Challenge at the Army Run this year. Would be amazing to have a kit to scrap that with!

We are doing the Vimy Challenge at the Army Run as part of the Canada 150 birthday celebrations and the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge (which is when they say Canada truly became a Nation, separate from Great Britain). So again, it would be AMAZING to have a Remembrance Day kit for that occasion.

What kind of elements/colors would y'all expect to see in this kit? Red and White obviously and the Canadian flag... but as an American who doesn't run... LOL... and I don't know what Vimy is (just looked it up! Interesting, obviously I am not a History major!!!!), I'm interested in what this kit would need.

I am trying to learn to design and would maybe try a free mini kit for fun!

Here's a palette I threw together:

Or this one:

Ideas for kit contents:
paper flowers, fabric flowers, greenery, single photo frames, journaling bits, accents, paints, blended papers, gold maple leaf, gold beaver, red maple leaf, red poppies, officer's swords, military bits and pieces and ephemera (but no U.S. badges/flags/mottos), military helmets, crowns and pips (Canadian officers rank insignia).

Basically I'm looking for a kit suitable to scrap my Remembrance Day photos, and photos from the battle sites and memorial from WW1 and WW2. This year is Canada's 150th birthday, and the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, so a kit celebrating those important dates would be SO amazing to have. My husband and I are doing the Vimy Challenge (5K +10K races) at this year's Canada Army Run, so it would be great to have something to scrap that with too!

That palette and the kit contents are VERY helpful! I am working on SOMETHING, keep in mind this will be my FIRST scrap kit EVER, lol.... but it will be FREE ;)

Hopefully an actual designer will see this an be inspired!

That would be awesome Michelle! I hope to travel to Canada this summer and maybe tour some of the universities there with my daughter.

Ok, so keep in mind this is my very first kit, EVER. And, I'm American, LOL!
Please let me know if you run across an element that doesn't "fit" or the dpi is wrong, etc so I can fix it. Or if something just doesn't make sense. I tried to do as much Canadian research as I could to make sure what I was creating was accurate. :) I hope this can help y'all out at least somewhat! (PS. I looked for a Beaver... I had no idea how hard it would be to find a commercial free for use beaver!!!! As you can tell, I never found one- sorry!)

Michelle!!! That's fantastic! You go girl!! Nicely done -- I'm so impressed. You even made a little designer logo. Way to go!!!!

Oh wow! I'm just seeing this now. Awesome! I will have to play with it once I'm done with my registration exam in mid-May (I'm on hiatus from most of my scrapping duties and fun until then).

I forgot I posted this post.

kit looks fantastic thank you.

Its hard to mix a celebration, canada 150 with fun parties fireworks etc with something as somber as the vimy commemorative. My grandfather served and survived vimy, one of the few to do so. Very somber occasion. I don't place its 100th in the same "party set" celebration as Canada 150.

I understand that. I really tried to incorporate different aspects to use as a "mix of most" type thing.

As I Canadian I would also love to see a Canada 150 kit in the form of the challenge on right now; PARTICIPATION 150, includes challenges for keeping active. I am trying to complete as many activities as I can and make a 150 scrapbook. All colors and numerous elements that are on the playlist could be considered. THANKS!

See here...https://www.participaction.com/en-ca/programs/participaction-150-play-list

im partaking in that challenge as well ... when I don't forget.
