Flowers for Valentine's Day?

In March I will be married for 30 yrs. Until just recently things were always tight.....so I didn't want my husband to "waste" money on flowers. Now that the boys are on their own, flowers would be nice.....Bet it doesn't happen though because I've always given my husband such heck for getting them.
Do you like getting flowers?

Congrats on the upcoming 30 years!! I don't mind flowers, but I do think they're a bit of a waste of money. I don't get flowers though, so no problem there!

Same as you! This year it will be 32 and just recently I have started thinking that a bouquet of flowers would be kinda nice. How do we get our husbands to do it without coming right out and asking? Buy them ourselves?

My husband is famous for getting me flowers and they trigger my allergies. Bless is heart, but I wish he would remember NOT to get them.

Plants are better!

I appreciate the thought behind the flowers, and I enjoy them while they are still alive. I guess I could take them or leave them.

I like flowers, Lily's are my fav along with Hibiscus. Not a big fan of roses. So on valentine's day, I can't imagine why someone would spend so much for a dozen roses.

I love getting flowers! I especially love when they are ones I can plant in the garden. One year my husband got me a beautiful rose bush and another year a blueberry bush....they were for Mother's day, though.

Don't get flowers very often either but I love flowers and appreciate them when hubby or kids surprise me.

Heidi, I did buy myself some fresh flowers last Spring. My husband asked why I was buying flowers....I just told him I needed them :)

Same here! Even though I think flowers would be nice once in a while, I would rather a gift card to Hobby Lobby or something!

A dozen of roses are crazy expensive. I'll be seeing a bunch at work tomorrow I'm sure!

I would love a blueberry bush....not sure if it would grow here in Oklahoma though.

Almost 26 for us and I still don't like money wasted on flowers. I just buy myself a $10 bundle from Walmart anytime I want to liven up the winter. Hubby is grateful I handle it. As much as I dislike the holiday, a card or letter with something heartfelt would be nice.:)

We've been married for 33 years and I rarely get flowers. Unfortunately, I'm a hopeless romantic and would love to get flowers all the time, even if they were wild flowers off the side of the road. My hubby is not the romantic type though, and does not think about flowers or cards or any off that stuff. Sad, but true. Stopped trying to change him a long time ago, lol. If I want flowers I usually buy my own.

Congrats on 30 years!

I've told my husband he doesn't need to get me flowers anymore. I think he might secretly still want to though. Last weekend we were planning stuff for my birthday and he said "You haven't killed any of your plants in awhile, so let's go plant shopping" LOL! I'd rather get plants because I love them, but I definitely see why a lot of women prefer fresh flowers. I cannot deal with the ridiculously high V-Day prices!
