Hello everyone!.. I have ben trying to get all my CT layouts posted, I have been dealing with a sinus infection and ear infection, so haven't been getting things done lately. But I will get caught up. I have been having trouble with my ears since I was born, and it is the worse when you have ear aches. But started to feel a little better today. Do any of you order cookies from the Girl Scouts. I order some but I'm still waiting to get them. The lady I ordered from has set a time to drop them off 3 times, and never showed up all 3 times. I might have to call the company if she doesn't get them to me soon. I will give her this week and then I will have to call... I feel bad if her excuses are lagit, but she never called to let me know she wasn't coming, she just didn't show up. I know her from working at the hospital when I worked there. And hope she is trustworthy... we will see. I also heard they have changed the cookies and they aren't as good as they use to be... hope that's not true... Have any of you found this to be true???.
Well Thanks for listening to my rant... And hope you all have a great EASTER WEEKEND!

Funny thing about accents....when I read the posts in this thread, you all speak with an Aussie accent :D
I do have problems making out what I'm hearing if the person has an accent other than English or Aussie, I even struggle with the American accent at times. If I need to phone a helpline for anything, I often cannot understand what I hear and have to ask them to speak slowly or put me on to someone who does not speak with an accent...horribly politically incorrect in these times but necessary. I use the closed captions on all TV shows.

Happy Easter to all those who observe it. Stay safe and well, enjoy the company of family and friends if you are able.

Well, I definitely hear you speaking with an Aussie accent and I can understand most of what you are saying just fine :) Now my cousins from England can speak really quickly with a powerful Northern English accent and if they speak too quickly I struggle with them. It isn't the accent with them, it is the sheer race to the finish line with each sentence!!

I do watch a few Aussie shows on the telly! I quite like Dr. Blake, although it had an odd ending due to the troubles with the actor. I watched a few others... one that was a fire and rescue show, which I quite liked also. I can't remember the others, but I have enjoyed those. There are a few NZ ones I like also. I like the Brokenwood one and Under the Vines, but I love My Life is Murder, which I think is Aussie, but set in NZ. Anyway, I love that one. Not to mention Miss Fisher and Modern Miss Fisher :) I watch them all.

Jen is going to cook a turkey stuffed with a keto stuffing she found online. I'll make cauliflower mash and salad. She's going to make fathead buns (keto recipe) and a gluten free pumpkin loaf. For anyone not low carb/keto, that would probably gross you out but for us, we love it. We are used to low carb foods.

Sounds perfect to me.

I'm fussy about audio books too, generally prefer British voices but my main issue is when people speak too slowly and I want to wind them up. :)

Interesting that you watch some of our TV shows, I didn't know they made it to the US.

I've got troubles with my ears too Alta. Also since I was born. When I was 12 I got a double ear infection and a meningitis. I'm lucky to be alive. I had 3 operations to replace one of my eardrums. It is gone now and I'm almost deaf with that ear. Luckily I can hear with the other one. I hope you have a quick recovery.

Busy long weekend, just 8 days until my trip and so much to do.

I wanted to pop in to wish everyone a Happy Easter!

I just popped in to say GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRR...LOL. I have been working on a page since last night. I have started 4 times and I just don't like anything. That is all! Hope everyone has a great Easter too! All my kids will be home so I am looking forward to that!

My husband purchased GS Cookies from a young lady standing in front of our local feed and seed store. He also ordered some directly from the company. I love GS Cookies! They have some new ones that I am not crazy about but the ones that have been around for years seem to be as good as ever. I hope she gets them to you soon. If not, I would definitely shoot the company an e-mail or something.

I have ear and sinus problems as well and it is not any fun at all. I do hope that you are feeling better soon!

This is my scrapbook life! It takes what seems like forever for me to get a layout done sometimes. Either I struggle with the photos that I want to use or what kit to use with them. The struggle is real!

Last one! I am dying to find out who the new GingerBread Girls are but I haven't seen an announcement yet. Maybe next week.

Happy Easter weekend everyone! And if you don't celebrate, I hope you're having a good weekend!

A little sad news- Eren's boyfriend broke up with them, and I hate to say it, but I kind of saw it coming. So they are down and we all didn't sleep well last night. Today is kind of "meh." We went out to see the new Super Mario movie- a group of 3 adults and a roomful of kids, LOL. But it was a fun movie.

Tomorrow we'll have a quiet Easter and Eren goes back to school on Monday. I hate to send them back to school with a broken heart, but it is what it is. We've put as much of a positive spin on this as we could. It's only a few more weeks anyway.

I hear you Carla and Scrapcrazy Julia!! The same thing happens to me ALL the time. Choosing a kit to go with the photos takes an age for me sometimes, I wiffle and waffle, try many different papers just for one layer alone. It is such a wonderful feeling to have a photo you want to scrap and know exactly which kit you want to use with it...it happens so rarely. Another thing that happens to me is that I scrap for a challenge, go to get links from the store and find that that designer has left GS. I havent yet learnt to go check first!!

Have a wonderful weekend ladies. I will be going to my daughter's place today (Easter Sunday here), hopefully in time to see my little great grandson Harley go on an Easter Egg hunt.

Ginger posted in the Scrap A Thon details post that she needed a few more days! She is hoping to get the priczs etc out by the 11th.

Happy Easter ladies! I'm heading out for a photo walk through the park and then will come home to get some trip organization done. My daughter is cooking a turkey and I'll do the side dishes. She baked a (keto friendly) pumpkin loaf and choc cookies for us. It'll be a lovely family meal together and we'll probably watch a movie later.

Enjoy the day.

Ha... I love that we all read the posts with our own accents in mind. I grew up watching a lot of Monty Python, so I'm good with watching shows with most British accents. I also love Dr. Who and several other shows that have traveled across the pond. But sometime Scottish or Welsh accents will trip me up. Of course, here in the states, we have such a mixed bag of accents. I'm usually pretty good EXCEPT with the Creole accent in Louisana. That one confounds me. LOL!

We had a great weekend with my family. Yesterday, we drove to my brothers. Took the youngest nephew to brunch to celebrate his birthday (he'll be turning 15). Then we met up with the rest of the family at the college baseball game. It was a gorgeous day, so it was fun to sit and visit. Then we created an egg hunt in the front yard for the great-nephew, and that was a hoot. Then we had an "extreme" egg hunt for the older boys... where my brother would randomly turn on the yard sprinklers! LOL!!!

Today, we had an early brunch with our daughter. The food was BAD and super expensive. I'm going to write a letter to the restaurant BEFORE I post a review. It was THAT bad. $30 per person. Drinks were extra. I asked for decaf and was told they didn't have any. So I ordered an iced tea. Never got any refills. All of the hot items on the buffet were lukewarm, at best. Many of the items were clearly purchased from the big box store and served directly out of their packaging. Waiter tried to give us another table's ticket. Etc. etc. etc.

I took our daughter to the grocery store to buy her some meal prep items before we headed home. I then processed all of the Easter photos and got the link sent out to the family. So now I'm ready to start scrapping them. Yay!

This is going to be another busy week. I'll be on the road for work M-W again this week. Traveling out of state for a conference next week. Hosting another 2-day in-state training the week after that. So this month will go fast.

Hope you're all having a GREAT Easter! :)

Good morning ladies.

Shana - sounds like a terrible experience. We haven't been eating out much, it's just not worth the expense. Hubby will get takeout lunch sometimes but I usually refrain. Sounds like you are organized with your photos, good for you. I just took a couple of food photos with my phone, of our turkey dinner. Easter was pretty low key here.

We go to pick up documents from the travel agent today. We leave early Sat morning, I'm so excited that it is only a few days away.

It sure is going to feel weird to not scrapbook for 3 wks while we are away on the cruise. I've never gone that long before. When I get home and start loading memory cards I will be so excited to start scrapping about the trip.

I'm feeling lazy this morning but I'm sure I'll perk up after another coffee, which I'm getting now. HAGD everyone.

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a good Tuesday so far. :)

I'm doing ok, except for the raging spring allergies. It's in the high 70's here and pretty nice outside, though I haven't gotten outside yet. It's warmer outside than inside, lol!

I keep thinking about Eren's breakup and hoping they make it through ok. Those first loves can be hard to let go of. It took me a month of pining with my first breakup, before I prayed for a new challenge, something else to occupy my time. Within a few days, my now-husband called to ask me out. So it worked for me, LOL! I actually haven't told them about this yet. Maybe I should?

Three weeks is a long time to not scrap. But you'll have lots to do on the cruise. Those team games can be lots of fun. Can I suggest possibly keeping a written log of what you do. My last cruise I took pictures and I don't recall why they were important to me at the time. My last trip to Universal Studios we kept hoping back and forth between the parks and many of the pictures I don't remember which park they were from because of this.
Enjoy your journal and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Lily Ann, I second your statement about the written journal. When Randy and I went to Disneyland in January and then did our two-week cruise, I did an old-fashion pen-to-paper journal each day. Randy and I made it part of our routine each day to talk about our highlights and the "what we learned" each day on top of the chronological actitivies. I refer to it often when working on my pages of our vacay.

Hello Ladies, thought I would stop in and say hello... Feeling a lot better, getting over the ear aches and the sinus infection. But felt kind of tired today... didn't do any scraping today, hope to get my mojo going tomorrow. I did finally get my girl scout cookies, and the first box taste just fine like they always do. My grandkids are enjoying them... LOL I have been binge watching "Sue Thomas FB Eye" good show... I have never heard of the shows you all have mentioned above, will have to check them out. I don't watch to many tv shows, I watch a lot of movies usually, drama, comedy, romance. Not a big fan of the new shows and movies that they have been coming out with, so watch a lot of older shows and movies. And I like watching cooking shows. I might go grocery shopping tomorrow got a few things on the list I need to get. Not one of my favorite things to do, but something we have to do... LOL At least the weather is suppose to be really nice tomorrow, so better go why it's nice out... Quiet here not much excitement, peaceful... You all have a great rest of the week, and I will try and stop in again soon.

Whenever Karen was broken up with, we watched "Ghost," cried a lot and ate popcorn. It became our tradition. I had her reenact a breakup face, holding the movie Ghost for a scrapbook page years ago. She thinks I am crazy.

That food thing sounds awful and you sound really busy, as always. :) Hope you get a break soon.

I second what everyone is saying about a journal. I have hand written journals from every single trip I have ever been on and they are priceless. My friend Tina is paperscrapping a trip we went on in 1997 and copying my album. The best part has been re-reading the journals we both kept. They are so funny. We muddled our way through just fine language-wise, we both spoke adequate French, but when we watched television in the evenings after a long day, we struggled and there is a running commentary on one day about what we thought one of the game shows was about.

I am glad you have been stopping in - it is nice to hear what is going on in your life. :)

I am so glad to see that all of you ladies had a wonderful Easter with family. All of my family came for dinner and the two youngest grands stayed until this evening (Tuesday). They would have stayed longer, but I have a procedure in the morning at the hospital so they were headed to the other Grandmother's.

Alta, So happy to hear that you are feeling better. Sinus and earache are no fun at all.

I'll chime in about the journaling on your cruise too, Rae!
One of the best trips we had was when Mom took the ENTIRE family to Disney World for what would have been hers and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary. We told her that she was going to be our "journalist" because the "us girls" wanted to create scrapbooks when we got home, not telling her of course, that we fully intended on making her the original! This is something she did on all of her trips, so we knew she would find all sorts of things to write about that we'd miss or forget and then we could concentrate on taking pix. We got together for the next six weeks, every weekend (and yes, we kept track of the days, hours and minutes... lol) and made Mom her Disney Scrapbook for Christmas. It was amazing. She cried. That was our whole intent. HAHAHA!

I am glad you have been stopping in - it is nice to hear what is going on in your life. :)

Not much going on in my life, I don't get out much... just when I see the doctor or get grocery. I do go to my sons houses now and then, to babysit. But I am a homebody most of the time. I do try to get some walking in on nice days... I am always in pain, some days worse then others. But I try to keep moving. I enjoy reading all the posts here in the chat forum, appreciate you keeping it going. I try to get in here to say hello, I know I don't do that often enough, will try and do better. Well I need to finish my coffee and then head out to get some groceries... I'm running out of coffee can't have that! LOL Will stop in again soon... You all have a wonderful day!

Alta… when you watch the cooking shows, do you make any of the recipes that they do on the show? I once started a cookbook on fire, so the only thing I really make is reservations! LOL!!

Today is the last day of this week’s conference. We’ve had a great meeting and the attendees have really bonded. The hotel had a fire alarm go off in the middle of the night (some guest decided it was a good idea light up a cigarette in the stairwell, so all the alarms went off and there were four fire trucks). So everyone is little tired this morning. Keep the coffee coming!

I won’t get home till late tonight, but all the attendees seem happy. So I feel job well done. Hoping I can start scrapping my Easter photos tomorrow after work. I’ll be driving right back to Wichita (where I am right now) again on Saturday to take prom photos for the nephews who graduate this year. Last year, the date of prom was soooo windy. Hoping that Mother Nature will give us a nice day this year.

Good morning ladies. Heading out for my morning hike with Remi in a few minutes. She has her halter on and is softly howling at the front door, wanting to get going LOL. I'm waiting for my walking partners to text that they are waiting at the end of the block.

Lily Ann, Shana and Lynnie - yes, I was thinking about journaling too b/c 3 wks is a long time to try to remember details, especially for me b/c my memory is crappy to begin with. I put a journal book in my suitcase for daily journaling.

Picked up our travel documents yesterday and have some last minute things to do but not much to do now. I packed my suitcases and took photos of the packing so I remember how to pack to come home, to make sure I stay within the weight restriction. I have some digital books on my phone to read so am looking forward to some quiet time to read. I haven't done much of that this last year.

Remi is waiting for her walk so I'm heading out. The sun is shining, it will be a great hike. HAGD.

We rarely eat out both because of the expense and bc we make really delicious food at home. All 4 of us cook and my one son watches lots of YouTubes for inspiration.

Had some fun taking my 25yr old son shopping for something to wear to a semi formal wedding he's attending in NCarolina. He wanted everything from shoes to a suit jacket. Neck tie, new shirt and slacks, even a dress belt. When you work in front of a computer in your bedroom and only wear shorts and tee shirts, it's quite an upgrade. Looked so cute, too.
