I happen to really love opera and ballet. My now-ex hubby didn’t like either. We both loved Verona, though, and when I saw there was a ballet at the Arena di Verona, I convinced him it would wonderful to see the performance in this well-preserved Roman amphitheater built around 30 CE that predates Rome's Colosseum. While it once hosted gladiatorial combats, today, its excellent acoustics make it a world-renowned venue for opera and other concerts. We were sitting high up on the stone seats that were surprising comfortable, probably worn down by the thousands of years of use. The photo below is of an opera that I wanted to go see, but it gives a good view of the Arena when it’s full. No photos of the ballet (which included opera!) were allowed. It was wonderful! Wonderful! So glad I got to see it!
How thrilling...the opera...the drama...the knowledge of how many generations of spectators enjoyed he performance.
Very happy you got the honor of being there and wow oh WOW...created one gorgeous remember-this layout to bring back all those thrills over and over again!
