These quilted pieces were part of a stunning exhibition showcasing the work of artist Jenny Bowker who lived for many years in the Middle East. Inspired by her photography of the people and landscapes she encountered there, she translated those images into textile form using various fabrics and threads—machine stitched, pieced, and quilted. These works are particularly striking for their incredible stitched text details, which add depth and narrative to each quilt.

On my all-time bucket list: Visit Jill and scope out all these breathtaking exhibitions.
For now, I'll let my eyes dazzle these beautiful photos.

Marvelous clustering. Love how the bottom one resembles an award ribbon.

Oh my heavens. If I was this woman I would be over the moon for this page. Please find her and send it. Your pictures, your folded edges, your stitching, your flags, clusters and journaling are absolutely brilliant and barely do justice to the amazing work of this woman. You have done a lovely tribute.
