Journalling -
The Barossa Reservoir was the first arch dam in South Australia. Completed in 1902 the Whispering Wall has surprising acoustic properties. Sounds & voices even at a whisper carry from one end of the dam wall to the other. This phenomenon happens due to the dam's quiet location & straight-line sound waves reflecting off the curved dam wall. Sound travels 140metres to the other end, enabling the transmission of whispered sounds
