A Helping Hand-
I have been the caregiver for my daughter Nerissa, born in October 1993, who has autism, for my entire life. Later, my brother Jan came into the picture; he had a motorcycle accident in 1994 which left him with a high-level spinal cord injury. I clean his home and wash his bedding. Since October 2024, I have also been taking a little care of my eldest sister Baukje, who suffered a stroke. Fortunately, she is getting better, but she sometimes still needs some help. I do her laundry, and we also go shopping or enjoy going for walks, during which I push her wheelchair. She can walk, but it is a little easier this way.
I also visit every week my neigbour Jan who had A.L.S. He lived in a small resthome in Lemmer for people who need help in what kind of way. Sadly died last week Nov.5th-2025, only 69 years old.
May he rest in peace.
