My daddy is from the country and was raised to hunt, fish, and earn your keep. We were not rich, but we had everything we needed. I never had a conversation about life with my daddy, but I learned by watching him that a person who does not work does not eat. When I was growing up, I could not wait to get out of the house. Now that I am older, I can’t wait to get home. I am grateful for the simple things. I have a roof over my head. I have shoes on my feet, and clothes on my back. I am grateful that my needs are met. I am grateful for being able to go to church. I am grateful for the lessons my daddy taught me.
The photo was from Flickr Commons and the font is “Santos Dumont”.
This is soooooo beautiful! The heartfelt journaling is just so touching and the font you chose suits it well. Using the gorgeous snowy forest pp is a genius move and your figures and small cluster work in combination so effectively. I already did my Baker's Best nomination for the week, but this is sooo worthy, I hope someone else nominates it! love love love it.
Thank you very much @glee. Such a thoughtful thing to say. I appreciate it. I need to update it to include where I got the photo and the name of the font. I am going to do that now.
My goodness what lovely journaling and what a beautiful life lesson. Your page is just gorgeous. I love the illustration of the journaling with the two people at the bottom and the use of the word art! So beautiful. I wish I had not used up a Bakers' Best this week, I would have nominated this!
This is so beautiful! I love how you framed the gorgeous journaling with the trees in your paper, the photo blends in so beautifully and the clustering is lovely. Beautiful work!
Thank you very much @photocrazy. I practiced using layer masking techniques and affinity photo, combining it with blending modes. The background is actually two different papers blend it together then the photo was masked and played around with on top.
I love the script you used for the journalling and the way you wrapped it around the page elements. Thank you for including it in the LO description...a boon for old eyes like mine. A really eyecatching page. I echo what everyone above has said Awesome work.
