Journaling based on information found on the page about this discovery, but it’s my journaling and opinions. They thought what I think looks like ribbons were horns which is why they called it a Wooly Devil.

IT GROWS ITS OWN RIBBONS!
This is a new species of sunflower (woah!) as well as a new genus discovered in the Big Bend National Park in Texas by park volunteer Deb Manley and Cathy Hoyt, a park interpretive operations supervisor while they were on a hike. They named it Wooly Devil, but is formally now known as Ovicula biradiata. It’s very small, less than half an inch to about 3 inches across, and it grows its own ‘ribbons’
Wow!! This is amazing, those "ribbons"! Big Bend National Park is definitely on my bucket list, though I admit I've been put off by the hot temps. I like the detail of outlining your title in hot pink.

That's interesting journaling! Love the plant and how you used the pretty cluster around it. Love the font you used too!

Wow what an interesting plant Connie, thank you for sharing the information and photos with us. Your LO is gorgeous, you have done such a lovely job with the challenge kit, your floral work is gorgeous.
