- My favorite island is Grenada, about 400 miles north of Venezuela. There is so much to do and see on the island including a rain forest, a volcano, pristine beaches, and the famous Carenage in St. Georges. I want to go for an extended stay in order to enjoy the market and the workboat regatta on Grand Anse Beach. There is a great deal of history to learn about the forts and their connection with the USA back in the Reagan era. I love this island with all the island architecture and fun places. The Hardwood Bar is right on the beach and the Nutmeg Cafe is on the Carenage. And don't forget the Nutmeg and Cinnamon factory. Gotta go!
