heritage photos 100 years or more
Such a treasure to have all those photos! It is a long process indeed. I enjoyed reading your journaling and really like how the photos are darkly matted on top of all the layering of papers. Such a beautiful way to display history!

Exactly!! What a treasure you have on your hands!!! Not everyone is so lucky!! You've created a beautiful page to display them. The papers are gorgeous and I love the bits of burgundy throughout. (The handwritten note is an awesome addition! The writing looks so much like my own dear grandmother's.) Just love your page!

Love your page, the images, the story, the layout... I also am trying to put together family pictures and family history, but my parents are also gone and I have limited resources.. I am 76 and like you feel I don’t have eons to pull this together.. that being said, I was intrigued by the title of “our sody”. I went scouring for info and you may already know this, but it seems it was a type of house built from sod when other materials were too costly or unavailable. I thought I would share what I found in case you might find it interesting... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sod_house

Thank-you for your intrest, I too am 75 and feel the need to get family pictures scrapped and documented. My husband and I have both inherited our families photos. I keep thinking that I only have 10-15 years at the most to get it done. My husband has a 90 yr old aunt who we visited last week end and got a lot of photos identified, she is our last resourse. I was aware that the "sody" refered to her sod house, but I still don't know where she fits into the picture.
