Stepping into the Past

Here is my entry for Challenge 1. I used my Memories kit. Photo is my son Nick .He is in the Navy and currently deployed. I use PSE 6 and to age the photo I used overlays and filters, many of them, to get the old worn look.I adjusted opacity, contrast and hue and saturation to get the look I wanted.
I'd say this is one of the best LOs in the gallery, but anytime I see a sailor I think it's a fantastic LO, so I guess I'm just more than a little prejudice. I can't believe you have a son old enough to be in the Navy -- or else that's a very old pic you've used for you ID.
Superb job on the LO, your clustering is fantastic!

This is gorgeous! You did a wonderful job on the aging! And making it look like a room with pictures on the wall, so creative. Terrificly well done.

good for you for using flowers in a man's LO!! ...a lot of people are afraid of that...but, this works well here as a vintage look...God bless your soldier.(my daughter returned from Iraq just a few months ago)

This is so cool! It totally looks like these photos are hanging up in your hallway. You aging effect is awesome. Beautifully done!

I agree with everyone, this is such a beautiful layout! I love the scene you created and the great photo ageing. Well done.

I LOVE this! It reminds my of my brother and grandfather. My mom has my grandfather's Navy Picture right next to my brother's Navy Picture on her book shelf, one is old looking and one is newer. Great work on this LO.

I love how you aged the photo; especially with a rounded faded area - reminds me of fading from sun light.

I agree, it is one of the best lo's in the gallery. Your aged photo is AMAZING!! Would be will to do a tut on it?? I would totally be interested in it! I find it so beautiful. I love the way you merged a scene page with a scrapping page! The hinges, the ribbon on the frames are all wonderful. Superb job!!

Love the idea of the photo hanging on the wall. Great job with your photo treatment. HUGE thank you to your son Nick, you also, for his service for my families freedom.

Amazing!! I envy your creativity!! absolutely in love with the aging photo!! tfs and good luck

Amazing scene! I just love the photo edit. Beautiful clusters! Good luck this season!
