2018 Benny and Waldo

here's the journaling:>Waldo was Russell’s cat from the moment he was just a ball of fluff born to a feral mother in our backyard. They were constant companions until Russ grew up, moved out and started a family. Wally took a long time to adjust to Russ’ absence and every time Russ would come to visit, Wally was overjoyed. One summer day, Russ brought his son, Benny (18 months) for a visit. Wally usually hid from visitors (hence the name, Where’s Waldo) but there was just something about Benny that struck a chord with Wally. From the moment Benny arrived, Wally was ecstatic! He wouldn’t let Benny alone … Benny didn’t know quite what to make of it since his own cat, Lucy, wouldn’t give him the time of day and ran away from him. Not Waldo .. Benny ran and Waldo was right behind him. I gave Benny a cat toy and Waldo was beside himself, leaping and pawing .. on his hind legs, he was nearly Benny’s height! Benny screamed with delight and even that didn’t shake Wally. I was laughing so hard that I never took a photo but the memory of that day and the joy between boy and cat will live in my memory forever.
