The picture itself in your page is so moving and the fact that you've told the story of the picture adds to much more to your page. I like how you used the dots of grunge to really keep the focus on the main subject of your picture.

what a beautiful layout. the sentiment really hits home for me. i have a freshman who just finished his hockey season. it was so emotional watching sr night earlier this season. i was heartbroken for all the teams as they ended their final games with loses in state playoffs.
your design and elements look awesome. i especially like how you applied the mask/stamp over the photo but left the portion with your son uncovered.

Fabulous page, Cindy and I totally understand those emotions! You captured it amazingly well with the big picture, because one does feel small when you have the whole ice surface to yourself; and because they also know that they now have to go out there again alone, without their hockey brothers. (and as parents without friends you have lived with EVERY weekend for months and sometimes years!) Awesome page, quote and journaling! Great shadowing too of the hockey stick and puck. You added the white dots...that is so cool.. I thought at first it was the netting..excellent way to emphasize your son... I have to remember that! Thanks and good luck!
