Hearing Looks Like This

<pre>Survivor Cabin Fever Week 3 Brilliant Books

March 2006, grandson Isaac became ill with menigitis, resulting in profound deafness. Six months later he received simultaneous bilateral cochlear implants- a rare procedure at that time. Three weeks later they were activated. The photos are st
Oh girl, bless you, your family and this Angel. Those photo captures are amazing. That sketch of his ear and implant is pretty fantastic, too. Now I need to look at your gallery and find some updates on mr cute's life since then.

Wow! What a thing to have to go through. I love your series of photos and the explanation that goes with them. The journaling is so heartfelt. What a terrific page. I can't imagine having to deal with this. I really liked the way that you put the Why and the bullet points. Seemed to really make it stand out nicely. Also love all the clustering that you've done. This page is simply stunning. Thanks for sharing the story.

What a beautiful child. Your journaling is so heartfelt and beautiful! I like your sketch, too. The cascading cluster is so beautiful and leads the eye to the journaling. The series of photos are adorable.

Wonderful journaling and how awesome you have these to capture this moment. Great layout.

So powerful! I was drawn in by the colors and the series of photos on the side, but then I really saw how beautiful this layout really was....You really managed to capture this miracle so perfectly on a single page with the series of photos at the right and the journaling on the left. That Why behind the questions was really powerful... Your journaling was incredible and I am so glad that little guy can hear and he and his family can look back at your page and be forever thankful....

I don't even know where to begin. This is a profoundly moving and artistically lovely page. EVERYTHING about this is wonderful. The photographs are the star - what a moment to capture on film. Your lightly sketched illustration of the implant draws the eyes to the significance of the device. Your 'Why' behind the first section of journaling touches the heart so deeply. I love the journal card with your book quote. It is the Book I would wish to have more than any other if I were snowed in. Your font is also so beautiful, not the harshness of a type font, but the gentleness of something almost handwritten. Your clusters are absolutely heavenly, that lovely trail of leaves and foliage. This is absolutely wonderful.

Of course, I agree with everyone's comments above. Incredibly beautiful, moving layout. Everything is just perfect. You've put so much in this page. One of my very favorites!

A beautiiful story and am glad for this technology breakthrough for him! Such sweet photos and gorgeous clustering. Good Luck!

The series of photos is absolutely amazing! What a crazy thing to have to endure, what a brave little boy. So glad the technology worked for him. Love all your journaling bits and the sketch of the implant in the background. Such a thoughtful and powerful page.

Wow! I almost missed the sketch of the ear and implant in the center. Great storytelling page!

I think I will be weeping all day as I go through this gallery! I'm speechless, which is a hard thing to acomplish. Is there a word beyond perfection? Flawless and exquisite.

Oh wow! What a beautiful page and sharing of Isaac's story. The pictures are so precious. So beautiful. Love his expressions. The quote is perfect.

This touched my heart. . .our granddaughter was diagnoised with unilateral hearing loss nearly 2 years ago. She hadn't been sick, but she did wake up one night in extreme pain. They took her to the doctor the next day and he said it was just a "nightmare". . .our daughter then noticed that when someone would speak to her, she would turn her head so the other ear was being used. She called the doctor who ordered a hearing test and the audiologist said she could hear just fine and she was lying that she couldn't hear (why would a 6-year old lie about that). Our daughter pressed for another test and that is when they found the hearing loss. She has challenges but she has such a great attitude about it!!! I love those sweet photos that you have used and your cluster work is amazing!!! TFS and Good Luck!!!

How wonderful that he was given the opportunity to be able to hear again. I really like the series of stills that you have shown from his reaction to being able to hear again. Your page is just all around fantastic.

Wonderful layout, I love the quote you chose, and the photos are awesome, My oldest daughter is deaf but the implants would not work in her case. Amazing what doctors can do... :)
