Spelt Pancakes

For my healthy treat, Spelt Pancakes, I used the kit "Am I Dreaming" by ViolaMoni, Font is Journal. Journaling: I used to love eating chocolate, wheat, sugar and dairy. Until they all made me sick and I stopped eating them all. My treat now is a home-made from scratch Spelt Pancak
I'm going to have to try this! Looks like something I 'can' eat as well. Neat kit. Love the bird holding the WA. The colors are terrific.

Sounds interesting... I'd love to try this if you can give the recipe. Beautiful layout, especially how well you matched colors with the picture.

Here it is!
For those who asked, here is the Spelt Pancake Recipe:>>Dry Ingredients - Mix together in one big bowl>2 cups Spelt Flour>2 tsp. baking powder>1 tsp. salt>1/4 cup of Coconut Sugar or Maple Sugar (if you like your pancakes sweet; I just add a few Tbsps of Coconut Sugar)>(You can add 1 tablespoon Flax meal powder and a dash of cinnamon or ginger to taste)>>Wet Ingredients - Mix together in a medium bowl>1 egg>3 Tbsp of Canola Oil>1 tsp vanilla or maple syrup essence>1/2 cup Almond Milk or Rice Milk>>Pour wet ingredients in with the dry and mix well. If the batter is lumpy and dry, you can add a little bit of water or more Almond milk to smooth it out until it gets to pourable consistency. Use Canola Oil, 1 Tblsp full at a time, to bake your pancakes in a semi-hot skillet. Unused portions can be poured in a Mason Jar, capped and placed in the refrigerator and will keep well for up to four days. >Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing the recipe with us!
It's a good way to show people that healthy alternatives are out there.

Thank you for the recipe! I LOVE to mix extra egg into my pancake batter because I don't care for the texture but these look fabulous and I'm going to try them. The colors of the kit are fantastic with your picture and really draw out the cinnamon (I think) sprinkled on.

Thank you for the recipe we love experimenting with new recipes! Cute layout and how you were able to match the colors and I love the little birdie!

i need to look into this myslef ..looks good...oh never mind i see you included the recipe awesome!!(hint ..edit your credits and add the recipe) love how you accented the spelt pancake with what looks like raspberry syrup....the more i look at them the yummier they get...awesome colors

Spelt is a type of wheat but one that is an "ancient" grain, that has never been genetically modified, whereas modern, "regular wheat" (the everyday white flour that is in everything), has been extensively modified genetically, and its gluten content highly increased to give baked goods that fluffy look and texture. I cannot digest it since my 30th birthday, but I can digest Spelt no problem. You can find it anywhere they sell "health" foods. It does contain gluten, but in natural, normal amounts. It has a great taste, too, by the way.
