Honor

My son in law has been a cub scout leader this past year. As a service project, he took the boys to the Leavenworth
National Cemetery to place flags on the graves
of the fallen heroes. These are the photos he took while he was there.
I used Kathy Winter's kit Remember their Sacrifice found here:
Great LO. I like how the title can reflect both the honor of the boy/cub scouts or the honor of the fallen heroes.

Wonderful way to teach youngsters about the sacrifices made for their freedom and how to honor them. Awesome photos and arrangement on the page. The metallic grid makes a perfect backdrop for a masculine look to the page.

Great layout Deanna. I love the metal mesh placed as a backdrop to your squares of photos and embellishments.

This is a wonderful layout Deanna. The photos of the children placing flags are so touching. The off-center block layout works beautifully here and the placement of the photos could not be better, leading the eyes down and across the page. In the top photo you almost feel like you are walking down the row of tombstones with the kids. The one B/W photo of the child placing the flag at the grave evokes the sense that this was a somber moment. And the final photo of the child posing with the flags in his hand and the proud look on his face is so sweet. I love that you picked up the green of the grass (and uniforms), as well as the red, white and blue of the flags (and the kid's clothing). The metal grid behind seems like a subtle nod to the layout of the plots in a cemetary, and the title and the patriotic elements are perfect.

I've nominated this for Baker's Best. https://forums.gingerscraps.net/showthread.php?22418-Baker-s-Best-6-9-6-15&p=262455#post262455
