Laura and Allen added a furry family member - Maverick - to their household. Maverick is a rescue, 8 weeks old, and full of curiosity and energy. When he arrived at our house for a first visit, he was eager to make friends with Guinness but she wasn’t too sure at first. They got to know each other a bit in the yard and by the time they were ready to go home, Maverick was making himself at home in Guinness’s bed in her playpen, chewing on one of her many bones. For her part, Guinness was fine with the arrangement as long as he wasn’t encroaching on her humans. Maverick seemed to like a spot under Jason’s wheelchair and later that week he discovered he could climb up over and out of the playpen. Smart dog, maybe too smart.
