Journaling:
This was a week for using legs - for Grandpa and for Elizabeth. On Thursday Dawn had Jason standing by the dresser, using the dresser to help support himself. This was one in a series of longer stands as he gains strength in his legs. Almost 5 years after his stroke, we are still seeing regular progress! I went to Laura and Allen’s to stay with Thomas and Elizabeth for a few hours on Saturday evening while they went out with friends. Thomas had a sore foot from a birthday party and refused to put weight on it although there was no visible injury. He sat on the couch or walked on his knees but by Sunday he was much better and enjoyed fully participating in dance class so no lasting damage. Elizabeth “found” her legs this week and wants to bounce so we ordered a Jolly Jumper online. It also functions as a swing and has a maximum weight for the jumper of 50lbs and for the swing 165lbs so we let Thomas try it out first because he was so anxious to play. When we convinced him it was Elizabeth’s turn, she didn’t know what to do at first but she was fascinated at the new perspective she got looking around from a standing position. Thomas took it upon himself to show her what to do and had Elizabeth bouncing up and down while both of them laughed like crazy. We took videos and photos but I don’t think anything can really capture the moment - you had to be there. All in all a good week for using legs and standing whether you are 5 months, two and a half or almost 60!
Your excellent journaling and fun photos give me a good idea of what happened between the two little ones! So fun - and they are at the age where everything is brand new for one and still exciting for the other! Great page!
