On St. Pat’s day we were up at 4 AM to be at the hospital by 5:30 AM. Little sleep, but we were glad to finally be getting the surgery my DH needed. I was so tired I forgot to take pics of him before they took him into surgery and the morning was very stressful because our doctor called me about 1.5 hours before I should have heard from him to tell me that they had to cancel the surgery because they found a strange anatomy in the area they were working. Both of the surgeons working on my DH felt going further might cause harm and they called the local expert with the Da Vinci robotic surgical machine they were using. He agreed that they should stop. So there’s good news and bad news. The good news is that there is still no sign of cancer. The bad news is that we will be traveling about 200 miles to UCLA medical center (after DH has healed from this surgery) where an expert in the field will do the surgery with a very different and unusual approach that has proven to do a great job in similar situations.
