The annual planting of seeds

Journaling:
Every year as the weather warms up, I am drawn inexplicably to the garden centres and greenhouses with dreams of a lush and beautiful garden filled with flowers and vegetables throughout the summer. I start the seeds indoors, use a growlight and heating mats to warm the soil and provide the UV light, I water and I watch and I fertilize. As the weeks pass and some of the plants start to grow I carefully transplant them and carry them outdoors to continue nurturing them through the summer. I protect them - bring them in if the weather promises hail or high winds, move them to shaded areas on scorching hot days and at the end of the summer I reflect on my efforts and enjoy the fruits of my labour. I do this every year in spite of the fact that I could likely get 100 times as much produce at the grocery store for the same investment that I make in the garden. It makes no sense economically but in terms of satisfaction, it is more than worth the effort.
Great garden photos. I love the flower clusters and the stacked papers. Beautiful page!

While we have not had a lot of success with other produce, we tend to have really good luck with tomatos. I really liked reading your journaling, and you are so very right about the satisfaction.

Oh love the photos showing progress! I especially like the vine that creeps up/down the left side of the layout. The garden tool charms are adorable!
