My new artistic endeavor is macrophotography and trying new techniques in my scrapbooking. On this layout I created a torn paper strip from one of the kit papers and turned one of my photos into a watercolor card.

Beautiful photoless page! I love the kit elements and flowers you used. Great wordbits and wooden background.

I would really like to know how you created the torn edges on your papers, that is a technique that I have always hoped to practice, but I cannot seem to find a good way to do it. And macro photography, also something that I have never had any luck with.

I found a set of torn paper brushes in my stash, stamped that on a transparent layer. I duplicated that layer, clipped the patterned paper to the top stamped shape layer, clipped a white paper the bottom stamped layer, then nudged the clipped white paper up a little so it would peek above the patterned paper. I used the burn and dodge tools in Photoshop to add a bit of depth. I also ran a filter on the white paper layer to add a bit of texture but I don't remember what filter I used. Honestly, I'm still playing around to find what ways to make it look realistic.

Very creative page! Love the artistic endeavors you used on your page, especially the watercolor card you created.
