Here's my card for the month. We spent many weekends with my husband's Grandma Wanda when our kids were young. This was one of the recipes she frequently made for us and something all our kids really liked eating along with her delicious, homemade bread. She always included fresh peas in her soup as well, but my kids always picked those out and gave them to their dad, so we never included them when we made it at home. We also rarely put ham in, but our kids loved sprinkling bacon and cheese on top. It's a really simple, comforting, quick and easy soup to make!
Not a big fan of potatoes (long story for another day) but i do like potato soup. going to the grocery today so i will be making this for sure. i like those little assorted potatoes so i'll be seeing how they work out! and i will DEFINITELY be using ham. and might add in some shredded cheese! thank you for this mini kit .. love the bright colors! hoping for SNOW this coming week so this soup will be perfect!
In case anyone wants to know .. i just tried this recipe and it is delicious! i tweaked it a bit. didn't add the carrots (because i didn't have any), did use a ham steak (they were one sale) that i cut up. Just used 1 1/2 cups milk because i like my soup basically like sludge and i got the little golden potatoes that i sliced up (they are so cute) and added a bit of chicken bouillon for some more flavor. Also added two fistfuls of 4 cheese shredded cheese. i tend to vary from recipes a bit and i don't measure when adding to things. it was really delicious and i will definitely make this again!
