In December 2009 we spent a few days in Egypt before heading home from Hajj. We stayed at the Oberoi Palace.

Our visit to the pyramids was led by a young lady named Hend. She told us the history of the pyraminds, the symbolism behind them and explained the mummification process while showing us where it all took place. It felt like we had gone back in time. with vast
open desert spaces and camels wondering about. The sheer size of
the pyramids are humbling too.
We also enjoyed an afternoon cruise and meal on the Scarabee, as we enjoyed the views along the Nile River.

Seen with us is Shaykh Panday, one of the spiritual leaders that led us on our Hajj.

We also visited a leather shop, a perfume factory where one gentleman showed us how they blow glass into various intricate bottles, a shopping mall, Merit Centre El Bazaar and a market where we bought some papyrus.
