Yarn bombing is an entertaining form of street art that transforms everyday public spaces with bursts of knitted and crocheted colour. It often aims to beautify the environment, promote community spirit, raise awareness of local issues, and even boost tourism.

An event held in our town recently, to coincide with the mini mid-year Country Music Festival, was a great example of creativity and collaboration. Organised by the Arts Council and the Regional Art Gallery, it featured the yarn bombing of the 6metre high steel Picasso Guitar sculpture in Bicentennial Park.

People from all over the region spent months knitting and crocheting, their pieces coming together to cover this massive sculpture and the many other structures on display with vibrant yarn art. It makes you wonder just how many miles of yarn went into bringing this joyful display to life
What fun photos and corresponding journaling! That really would be something to see! Lovely themed corner cluster and wonderful title work! The row of gems along the top of the page add a special touch!

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful journaling. I have occasionally seen a single small piece that has been yarn bombed, but I have never seen anything quite like this.

OMGoodness...well, I never...gasp...gasp
...been so mesmerized quite like this...all the amazing creativity...all the hours laboring for this...all the bombarding of colors, styles and awesome settings.

You captured it...with the same flourish...adding icing...calling attention to it...and then giving those artists a HUGE pat on the back with one gorgeous showcasing!!

This looks incredible Jill! Love your use of the glittery textures in the title work and the decorative dots. The photos of the yarn work look amazing (wish I had crocheting skills like that!) and the yarn cluster is so beautiful.

The village where I was born has a yarn bombing every year. The knitting club meets weekly all year to work on their creations. They cover the center of the village and it is amazing. I DMd you a link! Your journaling captures the brilliance of the day beautifully and that title with it's superb choice of font and pretty glittery colours is fabbity. Love your fantastic basket creation. I thought perhaps it was one ellie, but reading how you put it together - and you actually tucked in the crochet hook! That is a big wow. I love the single bracket down one side of the journaling. I have bracket envy! I wish I could use them, but they always look as though I tried too hard :)

I figured there had to be a companion piece to the artist feature one; somehow I missed this. So incredible. Can't fathom actually creating this, but so love to see it virtually. I don't think we've got yarn bombing here, but I better check. Incredibly, they do things around here without MY knowledge!! (ha ha) That's such a cool cluster and I like how you outlined it and the glittery title. Like L, I'm a fan of brackets and you use them so much better than I do. You are my scrappy Yoda; I am just a baby jedi. May the Force be with us.
