I babysat today while Steven ran some errands. The kids have some giant Lego blocks that they love using to build walls, castles, and rooms. They’re really fun, but it can be challenging to get the kids to clean them up once they’re finished playing. Bruce spent part of the day drawing on his tablet. At just five years old, he shows a lot of potential and creativity, and I believe he will be an amazing artist when he grows up. Part of his schoolwork involves writing his own stories, and I’m always impressed by how imaginative they are. I’m really proud of him and the effort he puts into his schoolwork.

I worked on the draft of the minutes for the DBE State Board meeting and sent them to Carole.
Wednesday, February 12,
I spent the day working on DBE things and ended my day with Bible study. I don't like this study or the last one we did. Plus I am not feeling great, so all not a great combination.

Scarlett gave me a good laugh today when she told me "No singing, Nana!" James used to say that to my mother. I also had a long chat with Karen on the phone about the wedding, discussing all the details and excitement surrounding it.

The kids played wonderfully today, running around in circles and laughing a bunch. Scarlett was so worn out that she fell asleep in her high chair while I was feeding her lunch. Mark messaged to let me know he is selling Valentine flowers to earn a little extra money.

Bruce has been busy creating signs and cutting them out, which he then sticks all over the house. Some of his signs say "Out of Order," "In of Order," "Come Back and Eat More Food, All Food," "Or Come Back Tomorrow," and "Or Cookies." There’s been bad weather back east, and Karen asked us to pray that Jon makes his flight. They’re having trouble with connections due to many delayed flights.

I went to review "Pachinko" for book club and realized that I hadn’t read it at all. So, I spent the day diving into the book, and it was absolutely fabulous. Later, while chatting with Rand, I mistakenly told him that Karen worked at "Violent Cactus" instead of "Violet Cactus." He answered, "That sounds painful!" It made me laugh.
