Do you ever get the feeling that the world is closing in,
That the pressure is too much for you and your head is caving in?
There's a way to get away you know that's curled up in your mind.
You can sail upon the adventure ship to calm down and unwind.

Sail away on the ocean tide,
Hear the sea sound.
Sail away in a book with me;
Be free, adventure bound, adventure bound.

You can sail away on a pirate ship to the Gulf of Mexico,
Quest like Don Quixote or ski the fallen snow,
Sail out in a space ship and grasp a trembling star.
If you sail away in a book with me you can travel very far.

You can sail upon the adventure ship and travel round Cape Horn,
And see the Flying Dutchman in the light of early dawn.
You can travel with the Hobbit, play truant with Huck Finn,
When the pressure is too much for you and the world is closing in.

So when you cannot face the world next time then it’s time to travel on
To the ocean’s edge, to the pounding surf, to greet the morning sun.
Find a bookshop round the corner where you can sail the endless sea
