Journaling reads:
Do you ever get the feeling that the world is closing in,
That the pressure is too much for you and your head is caving in?
There's a way to get away you know that's curled up in your mind.
You can sail upon the adventure ship to calm down and unwind.

Sail away on the ocean tide,
Hear the sea sound.
Sail away in a book with me;
Be free, adventure bound, adventure bound.

You can sail away on a pirate ship to the Gulf of Mexico,
Quest like Don Quixote or ski the fallen snow,
Sail out in a space ship and grasp a trembling star.
If you sail away in a book with me you can travel very far.

You can sail upon the adventure ship and travel round Cape Horn,
And see the Flying Dutchman in the light of early dawn.
You can travel with the Hobbit, play truant with Huck Finn,
When the pressure is too much for you and the world is closing in.

So when you cannot face the world next time then it’s time to travel on
To the ocean’s edge, to the pounding surf, to greet the morning sun.
Find a bookshop round the corner where you can sail the endless sea
If you're ready for a good time, be adventure bound with me.

Oh my goodness, this is amazing. I love the extraction of your bookshelf and I love the poem that you shared.

Reading is such a comfort to me, so I understand the sentiment that you are sharing intimately.

Fantastic page! I love the row of books at the bottom and the teapot. Great background choice and stitching around the page.

This is beautifully done!! Love the lyrics you wrote, it encapsulates the sense of adventure one can get from reading. Fantastic work on the books and bookshelf, and the stitched ribbon border.

Impressive journaling and I LOVE the use of the books at the bottom like a border! <3 Such a lovely page!

Did you put the song to music Lynnie? Love the words, totally relatable to me as a lifetime reader. I have spent way too long browsing your library here, reminiscing over all the Enid Blyton books I devoured as a kid, checking to see if I still have all the Harry Potter books...I think I lost fervour towards the end of the series. Love the subtle play on words in the title with the bound edges of this page and the relationship to books. Cute little cuppa happening in the corner...joy!!!
