My guess is that this pic was taken at my sister's house one Eid around the 90's, near the end of my and Farhad's Primary School years. Almost all the boys in the back row were on school/madrassah with us, if not in our class at some stage. The 2 boys in the front right being our friends younger brothers, tagging along. We all spent countless days together playing soccer or tennis at the school in the next road, hanging out at my sister's or our house, watching movies, playing Atari games, board games or chatting. The boys liked to ride bike together or challenge each other in Mortal Kombat at the shop across the road. In our innocence, it never crossed our mind that we'd one day lose touch. Sharief stayed in touch with me the longest. Farhad, Sharief & I were all married by then. Reza would also still come visit when I was on high school. After this pic was taken and my sister moved across country, my niece, nephews and I lost touch, though Zeenat & I wrote letters for a while. When I was working, I would always try to stay over or visit them when I was in the province. Modern tech (cell phones & emails) made it easier to keep in touch and I became close to Farhad, his wife and Zeenat again. Zeenat & I chatting pretty regularly even though we live in different provinces. Farhad now lives in Australia with his family. I miss him loads and always look forward to their visits. They all hold a special place in my heart.
