Years ago, I worked with an older lady named Gert. She was famous for bringing this yummy treat to our office potluck lunches. My kids LOVED this recipe and fondly named it "Gert's Dessert." Serving size shown is for pretty good sized pieces; could get a lot more if cut smaller.

Gert has stolen my heart...I can almost smell those delicious aromas baking in the oven.

I'm 100% certain my kids would have no idea what I was talking about if I asked someone to make "Chocolate Pudding Squares." They would all immediately know exactly what they were getting if I said "Gert's Dessert." Silly name that stuck!! :)
