A Walk to the West End; Dauphin Island, AL 3-12-25
Journaling: This morning we went down to the West End Beach for a long walk down the shore. I love the natural beauty of this area and generally it is a good shelling area and also a good place to find sea glass. As is fairly common I fell behind the rest of the family so I could explore the area and take more time to look for shells and glass. As I started to head back toward the parking lot I could see Calvin running down the beach toward me which made me so happy. Calvin & I took our time walking back to where the family waited on a large piece of driftwood, exploring as we walked. Lower left: Calvin wanted me to take a photo of this driftwood as he said he had jumped on it earlier and the end of it fell apart. There was large a ridge in the sand and he was walking along it breaking down the edge it has he went. We stopped to take a photo and that is when we spied Larry peeking out of beach grass behind him. {We had nicknamed all of the herons, Larry.}
