Journaling reads:
I have worked in the investment industry most of my working life. I started as a secretary in the insurance industry in the 1970s. The company branched out to investment diamonds and gemstones. I worked there for seven years, then went to an investment company that sold limited partnerships in real estate. I worked there for four years and from there, I moved to a mutual fund investment company where I worked for 10 years. The company moved to Los Angeles, and one of the people who worked there offered me a job with his company doing something similar. I stayed there for 22 years. During the early years of my career, I worked mostly administrative jobs. I learned computer programming in the late 70s and spent the rest of my career on the software end of the business. I had always wanted to work in languages, I just didn’t know it would end up being computer languages! At my last job, I worked in computer programming, software analysis and design, customer service, software testing, sales, training, and analysis of tax laws and how they affected the software. With Envision, the last company I worked for, I had opportunities to travel worldwide. I worked with the most wonderful people I have ever met. I am so blessed to have had the job with one of the best companies a person could work for. Interestingly enough, I often worked a second job. I wrote for computer magazines, taught computer science and algebra at a local college, taught high school French, and worked as a consultant for companies I had worked for in the past. These days, I am a full-time babysitter. I work 3-4 days a week watching my grandchildren and it is the best job of all.
