Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2026} Let's get to know each other!

It's been a slow weekend....
I have had some kind of asthma flare or something, but I haven't been able to breathe well for a few days now. Probably gonna take a nebulizer treatment tonight. I'm just sick of not being able to walk from one side of my house to the other without feeling short of breathe and dizzy.
Boyfriend is very excited to do "truck things" tomorrow. He got a truck last year and it customizing it.... It makes him happy so I'm down for it.
My daughter's birthday is in a couple weeks, but she had her friends over last night to celebrate. 8 pizzas didn't go far with 4 teens in the house! lol

Hope you have a fun time, Shana.

Where are all the siggies? I am mostly seeing just my own right now and it makes me sad. I love people's siggies!

I had a busy weekend. I babysat last week Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. This means I go to Steven and Nessa's on Wednesday morning and usually go home Friday night. If I am meeting one of my friends, I tend to stay over on Friday and meet her the next morning because this is half way to her place. We had a great lunch, then I headed home. Rand was watching a few football games, so I caught up on some stuff in the evening. Sunday, I had church followed by a lunch with my high school friends. I was counting on having Monday to relax and get everything ready for a meeting on Tuesday. My son called to ask if I could babysit Monday, so naturally I said yes. It was a lovely day with the kids. I got back in time to watch the Miami/Indiana game with him. Tuesday, I had a meeting. It took me all morning to get ready and the afternoon was the meeting. Last night we watched another episode of War & Remembrance. Now I am back at Steven's thinking "Where did the weekend go!!"

I don't sleep well on Tuesday nights and I don't know why. I have to be at Steven's really early on Wednesday morning, which might feed into it, but I just don't sleep well. Last night I got 2hrs and 25min, last week it was 3hrs, 9min, it is the same every week. The rest of the nights I sleep quite well.

Hope everyone is doing well :)

I think some have had a really hard time getting the siggies to save Lynnie since the change. I know I had to have help both times I changed mine. And then I remembered to take notes. HA! Could be why you're not seeing them.
Not looking forward to the next couple days here in frigid MN. 7F actual high today -10F tomorrow! We don't have school for quarter break, but OF COURSE, I have to work! I'm hoping they call a work-from-home day!!! Pray for us!
Love and Blessings

Hi Everyone,

There is a tutorial on updating your siggie here:

If you have any trouble, follow that. :)

I want the siggies back!! haha!

We will also caught up in the winter storm/extreme cold that seems to be country-wide. The predicted amount of snow varies wildly depending on the source, but with wind chill it's supposed to be -15. Not nearly as bad as y'all north of me (I am in the St. Louis area) but still enough to make me pause and think about staying home Saturday and Sunday.

Besides all that, I've been working on a paper due tomorrow and diligently practicing for an orchestra audition on Saturday. Scary (I have performance anxiety when I perform alone).

Does my siggy show, Lynnie?

@DebraB We don't DO windchill in our house. NO ONE stands outside in the WIND. (unless they're just too dumb to know better) Give me the actual temperature and that will tell me how freakin' cold it is. All this b* about windchill is just that. Dress for the temp and you're going to be just fine. Cover up all of your extremities and you won't have an issue. How do you think the farmers, ranchers, LEOs, FFs, etc have handled this for all this time. Weathermen did it right. None of this mattered until Weathermen/women became "meteorologists" and every event became Armageddon!
I'll get off my snowbox now. Thanks for listening. :ROFLMAO:😘

I was sitting here with my husband a little while ago .... it is in the 60s in our living room and I was saying how cold I was. THEN my friend start posting pictures on Facebook of the snow and how cold they are.

I am not warm by any means, but a blanket would suffice if our power went out.

Big (warm) hugs to the million people without power in the winter storms!!

Hi all. Yes, we had a fabulous time. Yesterday, we enjoyed lunch outside in 80-degree weather with the sun happily shining on us. We came home to temps in the negative... made it home around 3 a.m. due to flight / luggage delays. It's going to be an interesting day at work today with only a couple of hours of sleep. And poor Randy is once again fighting kidney stones... so another ER trip is probably in our future. He's already called his kidney specialist, but the doctor is in surgeries all day. So we will see how things play out.

Thank you! :) Randy seemed to be feeling better today but we are still waiting on his scan to be scheduled. The nurse has directed us to head to the ER if he gets to feeling worse. Just to note... if that happens, it won't be the first time I've spent my bday in the ER waiting room. I tease him that he always takes me to the most expensive places for my bday as I can't think of a more expensive place in town than the ER! LOL!

@breoni Happy Birthday Shana! I'm hoping you didn't have to spend the day in the ER. Been there, done that. I hope that whatever happens, you find yourself some awesome cake!

I made it through writing my paper in time. I got a 92.5. I'll take that. And the auditions weren't held in person because of the weather. I recorded all the stuff she wanted as voice memos on my phone and e-mailed them to her, as requested. As to when I find out, who knows? We ended up with about 10 inches of snow (no ice) that cancelled church and my Tuesday volunteer work. Bummer!

Hi all! I spent my bday at work, but then Randy took me out for dinner. It was low key and lovely. Yesterday, I had a scan to see what my gall bladder is doing, so hopefully I'll have a report from the doctor's office today or tomorrow. My attention is now focused on my winter conference...an annual event I'm responsible for. There's a million details, so I'll be checking over everything today. I also have a presenter for a course on Saturday that is worried about the weather. I've offered to fly him in a day early to avoid any storms, but he was opposed to that idea. So my gut is telling me I'd better have a backup plan! Oh my. My first wave of speakers / attendees arrive tomorrow evening, and our event runs Saturday through Monday night. I'm very much looking forward to Tuesday! LOL!

Hello everyone !!! Just jumping in to introduce myself. I am Melissa and I am from a small town near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have been digital scrapbooking since 2008 and not a newbie by any means. I have always been a creative person and worked as a graphic designer for 17 years. I recently went back to school and got my bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration and job hunting has been interesting to say the least. I have been married for 30 years, and we have three children (all adults), and 6 grandchildren. In 2023 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent chemo, radiation, and a partial mastectomy. I was declared cancer free and unfortunately 9 months later the cancer returned (less than 1% chance). I underwent a double mastectomy in December of 2024 and just celebrated being 1 year cancer free. (This time it is going to stick) Getting back into scrapbooking has been so good for me mentally. I have done a lot of journaling throughout the last three years and now to bring out my creativity again and share my thoughts has made me feel “normal” again. Thank you for letting me just pop in and join in the chat.

Do not mess around with gall bladder issues. I had issues back in 2013 and a doctor kept ignoring my symptoms and telling me it was just because I was overweight and I needed to diet. In 2015 I found a new doctor, and she admitted me right away and they found that my gall bladder had stopped functioning. I ended up having the surgery and having it removed. They told me I had 3 stones and it was easy surgery. I ended up with 100 (yes, 100) gall stones in my gall bladder, but they did the laparoscopic surgery anyway. Three days later I went back to the hospital via ambulance only to find that during surgery and removal of all those stones my surgeon punctured my liver and my pancreas and I was leaking bile all throughout my body. I was quickly transferred to step-down ICU unit where I spent 5 days recovering.

I always tell anyone to be diligent with gall bladder surgery if they need it. Don’t put it off, maybe if that other doctor didn’t ignore it, I wouldn’t have had the awful experience I did.

I hope your issues are minor to what I have gone through. It took time to heal but I feel so much better now.

Also, Happy Belated Birthday !!!

Welcome to our humble little spot. So sorry to hear of your illness but glad that you are cancer free now. I will look forward to seeing your layouts.

WELCOME Melissa! @honeybee ! Where "near Pittsburgh"? We have a buncha friends in PA all over the state and a couple live "near Pittsburgh" too. Used to drive thru all the time on our way to JBMDL when youngest DD was stationed there.

Happy WEEKEND ALL!

I am south of Pittsburgh actually ... about a 40 minute drive to downtown. They consider this the Mon Valley area. I think Pittsburgh is a beautiful town, last time I was in town was for a Pirates baseball game. We're close enough to Pittsburgh (easy drive) especially for hospital visits, but were far enough away from the hustle and bustle of a busy town. Best of both worlds I guess you would say.

Thank you all for the warm wonderful welcome. I truly appreciate it. Being able to get back into scrapbooking has been truly theraputic for me. Believe me there is a lot swarming up in this mind of mine. And I am a huge journaler ... so you will see a lot of that in my work.

It's 10 degrees here (feels like 7 degrees) and I am just keeping warm in my office with my little fireplace heater going watching Disney live streaming --- they are freezing in Orlando too; so I don't feel so bad. LOL !!!

P.S.: Yes, I am a huge Disney fan. You'll see a lot of that too in my pages. Well, off to look at this months new challenges.

Have a great day everyone !!!

The City of Bridges! Well... Cindy lives in Cranberry, which always drove Freddy (hubby) nutz because he truly (yes, absolutely honestly) hates cranberries. There's a very long backstory there that I won't bore you with. (it's sorta funny, but not now) Roberta lives right in Pitt. We'd stop just off the TP to see both when we were passing through, at a incredibly yummy sandwich restaurant. Of course, I can't remember the name. I can't remember anything anymore. It's heck getting old!
