Hi all :) I have some exciting news!!
Affinity Photo 2, Affinity Designer 2 and Affinity Publisher 2 for iPad are all FREE in the App Store right now!
Affinity is announcing some big new program on October 30th and there is speculation the current suite of apps might be discontinued. So now is the time to grab them and install them on your iPad! Once you have them on your iPad, they should still continue to work even if they are discontinued.

I've used Affinity Photo for a few years for iPad scrapping and I love it!
I picked up Designer and Publisher last week, since they were free, so I can verify that it worked for me!
🙂

What you will do is download them in the App Store, then it will ask you to start a 7 day free trial. Click yes. Completely close the app and open it again, then it will tell you "you have 7 days left of your free trial" or you can "buy now". Click the "buy now" button and it will be $0.00.

Even if you think you might want to learn these programs in the distant future, now is the time to grab them!

I'm currently working on a set of classes that I will post on YouTube so you can learn to scrap with Affinity Photo 2, so that will get you started! :)

**UPDATE** I published the first 5 lessons! More to come soon <3 https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5wSwbliNj-cJGl03kF7Muww0R1wDnyRY&si=Yfhs_hS7Clyl093s

Well did you see the new announcement. The new desktop Affinity is free! The iPad version is still in development.
I did!! I was on pins and needles all day waiting of the announcement! Soooooo exciting that it is an all new version and totally FREE! Absolutely amazing!
I'm excited to see the new iPad version, but also VERY thankful that the version 2 suite is not going to be unusable! It will still exist in its current format, but just no longer be updated. That means, I have plenty of time to learn the new version 3!
I hope that version 2 remains in the App Store for a while too, so other can grab that one if they prefer it over version 3.

This is such an exciting time! Now anyone can scrap, when an AMAZING program for FREE! Whoop Whoop!!!!

Ooh super cool! I've never used these programs, but I just got an ipad this year so that I could use Procreate, so I'm definitely going to download and play! Is it a good replacement for Photoshop for scrappers?

Greetings. New to this forum but long time scrapper. First physical, then digital and still evolving with technology. I have a bounty of valued digital assets and wonder what others are using to index their supplies to find things easy and to keep separate from the photo library. Would love to know what platforms are recommended. In the past I have used ACDSee but only for tracking supplies. Any others out there? Thanks.

YES! Affinity super fun on iPad! You should get is asap while it is available! :) I know version 3 will also be free, but it might take a while for me to get the hang of it, so I'm really happy version 2 will still be usable even after version 3 comes out later this month. I have some videos on my YouTube now and plan to post more in the coming months!

Welcome to GingerScraps!! I hope you love it here :)
I remember ACDSee back many years ago! For me, now I personally use tags on my iCloud. This is helpful so I can get my organization across every device I use.
This might be a good question to ask the community! You can post in Everyday Chatter and see if anyone has suggestions for you :)

Too funny. Rookie mistake. I thought I was posting in Everyday Chatter. Thanks for the idea of tags on iCloud; would that be adding keywords in the metadata info on each item? So excited to find digi scrappers!

Basically I just right click anything I want to tag, select the tag (or create a new tag). You can really do as many as you want! You can tag one item with multiple tags, so you could tag a Christmas kit with "Christmas", "GingerScraps" (shop), "GingerBread Ladies" (designer), "Red" (or any other color) etc. I have seen some users tag their templates with the number of photos spots, I love that idea and might take a weekend and get my templates tagged too!

Wow, you all have made me want to go get Affinity now. I use Microsoft digital pro imaging mainly. But they discontinued it years ago but I still use it for almost everything. I just love it. The only thing it won't let me do is use new/other fonts. I used to be able too but now I can't. So maybe it's time to try something new. I also have an iPad I use for drawing (I'm an artist and I love drawing people) which I do in procreate. But now I think I'll get this Affinity you are all raving about on it too when it comes out. :) Thank you.
