GingerScraps Gallery Rules & Guidelines​

Welcome to the GingerScraps Gallery! We're so happy to have you sharing your beautiful layouts with us. We have a shiny new gallery/forum and with that comes some updated rules. To keep our gallery organized, enjoyable, and fair for everyone, please take some time to READ & FOLLOW ALL THE RULES. Thank you!!

🚨 NEW RULE EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2025 🚨​

  • All layouts must include at least 50% GingerScraps products (templates count as 15%).
  • If your layout does not meet the 50% requirement, it will be removed from the gallery.
  • Grandfathered Content: Layouts uploaded before May 1, 2025, will not be deleted. This rule applies only to new uploads.

✅ Uploading to the Gallery​

  • You can now include as many categories as you would like, simply select a main category, then select the additional categories. There is a full tutorial HERE
  • You may upload up to 7 layouts per day to prevent gallery flooding.
  • Layout Size:
    • All layouts must be 800x800 pixels or smaller. The industry standard is 600x600, but you can go up to 800x800 if desired.
    • File size must be 500 KB or less.
    • We know the Gallery Home page states 1,000x1,000 pixels and 1MB, but that is incorrect—please follow the NO LARGER THAN 800x800, 500KB rule.
    • UPDATE: I recently noticed a beautiful 2 page layout that was 500(tall)x1000(wide) and the gallery handled it beautifully! Feel free to upload this size for your 2 page spreads!

❌ Prohibited Content​

To maintain a welcoming and family-friendly space, the following are NOT allowed in the gallery:
  • Obscene, nude, violent, or illegal content
  • Racist, discriminatory, abusive, or defamatory material
  • Unlawful or offensive imagery or language
  • No "adult content" language or imagery
Any images violating these rules will be removed without warning.

🔗 Linking & Advertising Rules​

  • We love to see the products you used! Please list the links to the GingerScraps products you used (this is not a rule, but appreciated!)
  • No outside advertising is allowed in the gallery.
  • Do not post links or mention the names of other shops.
  • Do not use hashtags that promote non-GingerScraps designers or stores.
  • You may list the name of a non-GingerScraps designer or product used in your layout, but you may NOT include the store name or link.

Copyright & Image Rights​

By uploading your layout to the GingerScraps Forum or Gallery, you acknowledge that:
  • You have the legal right to post this image online.
  • You assume all copyright liability for any and all images contained in your layout.
  • If you are using someone else’s photo or image (a stock photo), you must credit the original source if required by the owner.

⚠️ Enforcement & Consequences​

If you break any of these rules:
  1. GingerScraps staff has the authority to delete your layout without prior notice.
  2. You will receive a warning about the violation.
  3. If you continue to break the rules, unfortunately your account may be banned from the gallery and forum.

📸 New Gallery Feature: Upload to Multiple Categories!

Hey scrappy friends! 🎉

We’ve added a super handy new feature to our gallery, and I think you're going to love it! You can now upload your layout to multiple categories at once! 🙌 This is perfect if your layout fits more than one designer and challenge.

Here’s a quick tutorial to help you use this new feature:

✅ Uploading to Multiple Categories​

  1. Start your layout upload as usual.
  2. When you get to the category selection area, simply:
    • Hold down Command (⌘) on a Mac
    • Or...

A fellow forum member recently asked if there was a way to save a layout in the gallery to a "favorites" folder to revisit later. As I dug into it, I discovered that our new forum and gallery setup actually offers something even better—and I think you’re going to LOVE it!

Not only can you bookmark layouts for easy access, but you can also add multiple tags to organize them in whatever way works best for you. The possibilities are practically endless! 💡

Hey sweet scrappers! Just a quick reminder to follow the signature (sigi) rules when creating your forum siggies. We love seeing your creativity, personality, and blinkies—so have fun, but keep it within these guidelines:

What’s Allowed:​

  • Share your name/info, sport your favorite blinkies, and express your style!
  • Feel free to link to your own blog, Facebook, Instagram or your GingerScraps Gallery.
  • Be creative and enjoy showing off your sigi!

Q&A Thread

Q: 50% GingerScraps products by current GS designers, including retiring products?
A: Yes! As long as it is a current designer, you can use any of their products, new, old, retired, freebies etc.

Q: So its 50% to be posted in gallery BUT 80% to counted toward the Challenge Rewards?
A: Correct, the Challenge Reward rules are the same, always 80% GS for any challenges. Sometimes certain challenges require 100% GS product, read each challenge for specific rules.

Wow. Couldn't miss that announcement at the top of a gallery page. Great idea to put it there - so easy to catch!

I do have one question. Does "50% Gingerscraps Products" mean ANYTHING by a current GS designer (including her retired products), or does it mean it has to be CURRENTLY in the GingerScraps store? Thanks for the clarification!

BTW, I can totally see why you would put a 50% rule in place. There seemed to be a lot of post-and-go gallery activity by non-GS designers' creative teams just to fulfill requirements for public posting.

Read and understood @GingerScraps I wish there would be a rule for listing the products used and a link for them. I have been seeing many that have a lot of layout like that. It is only right to the Designer and also if I see a layout I like and would like to find out the designer etc. it is a little frustrating and then I would be unable to purchase the product used. Just my two cent :)
 
Oh, no....so there will no longer be any "Non-Ginger Scrap" layouts? I've posted all of my pages at Ginger Scraps as my "home" site. Now I'll have to find another Scrapbooking site to make my home. Very disappointed.

I completely understand how you're feeling, and I'm truly sorry to hear you're disappointed. GingerScraps has always valued the creativity and contributions of all our members, and we’re so grateful you've considered us your "home" site.
None of your layouts prior to May 2025 will be deleted. They will be grandfathered in, but as of May 1, 2025 you will need to make sure anything you post in the gallery is at least 50% GingerScraps products.
The recent change was made to better support our designers and the GingerScraps community as a whole, but please know it wasn’t an easy decision. You're still more than welcome to post your beautiful pages that use products from GingerScraps designers.

I truly hope you’ll consider staying and continuing to be a part of the community. 💗 If you have any questions I’m here!

I am SO glad to hear this, I have browsed other sites from time to time and if I saw a rule that no retired products could be used, I always thought that was a bit unfair...and while I do GET that the designers want to sell their new uploads, the product had been purchased and paid for by the user and should be able to be used regardless whilstever that designer is selling in store was/is my opinion. I often use older products if they suit my active requirement....doesnt stop me from buying new stuff though :)
