Sep 9 - Not much new. Went on a retreat last weekend with a bunch of card-makers, scrapbookers, quilters and we had a blast. The location was amazing. The owner really thought of everything. Double-beds for everyone, big crafting tables, electricity towers (on separate circuits) for each table! Then we went into the small town for breakfast at their cafe. YUM! Major cinnamon rolls, to die for!
Life is good.

I totally forgot to post yesterday!

Carla, that retreat sounds awesome! I would have loved that. Getting together with other crafters is so energizing!

I managed to get enough exercise most days last week, mostly through gardening. I am managing to keep up with my homework, which is mostly reading, though I'm not getting any recreational reading done. Sadness.

Carla - how was the start of school for you? and sounds like a good retreat week end....where was it held?

Ane - don't worry about not posting. I'm here and there for posting.

I have been getting in 1 walk a day. Will be getting ready to start combining in a couple of weeks so challenge will be to still get scrapping done.

Sep 16 - Our retreat was about an hour south of me, Debra, in a small town called Ellendale. Can you even beat that?!? How freakin’ cute! It’s about 15 miles south of Owatonna, MN.

We’re always glad to have newbies, Hilde! Welcome!

Well, now that school has really started back up, things are pretty boring. Lol. Just not doing much else but school and home and home and school. I come home exhausted. All I’m doing right now is combing thru ridiculously huge spreadsheets, cross-checking staff and students to make sure I know where everyone is and what everyone is doing. Then I contact all of my programs and get them going on billing. That’s at least a week away. That will be a chore, but it gets me out of my office and meeting my people and I like that part.

I do have to call the doctor again and get him going on my knees though. They’re killing me. I can’t do nearly the walking that I used to be able to do and I need to start cortisone shots again, maybe something more. Who knows. I’ll let them decide.

That’s all.

Love and Blessings

Carla, I kind of feel like you--just home and school, except school is at home! I will be taking it on the road this week though. We are going to visit the grandkids again! Oh, and hubby and son will run a marathon. DIL will be doing the half marathon, which leaves me and her friend with the kids to greet mama as she finishes. :)

I am still doing pretty well with my goals, getting enough exercise most days and reading/homework done. Things are going to heat up this week and next with class though. I have to figure out a theme and supporting topics for my final project/paper for this course. Not too thrilled about that--the paper has to be 10-12 pages and I haven't written that much on an academic level for quite a long time, lol!

Hi everyone

Thanks for the warm welcome.

My goals for this year are
- delve more into wildlife photography. photography is a big hobby of mine.
- Guard my boundaries a little more and stand up for myself a little more. I always say yes and don't always pay attention to my own boundaries.

In the scrap area
- I would like to gain a foothold as a designer. In November I will start as a guest in the shop here at Gingerscrap. I can hardly wait.
- I would like to finish at least one album this year.

Sep 23 - Hilde, that sounds wonderful. Can’t wait to see your designs! Played around with designing several years ago, but never got too invested. That is a lot of time. I enjoyed giving away very small kits in blog hops, but that was about it.
I'm so glad everything is going well, Ane. You're going to do great in school. I wish my everything was at home. I'm not looking forward to winter coming and having to walk thru that parking lot.
I JUST finished my MASSIVE spreadsheet recheck. Brought that sucker down from 6000 rows to a manageable 2200. Yup, we have over 2200 special ed students in our “little” city. I don’t have to deal with all of them; I just have to keep track of all of them. I only have to “deal” with about 800 students. And I really only have to work with about 100 on a regular basis. That’s why this time of year drives me NUTZ! (and I’m so glad it’s over!)

Hilde, that is awesome news! Can't wait to see what you create!

Carla, I'm glad you made it through spreadsheet h*ll. I like making simple spreadsheets, but anything too complicated makes my head hurt. You are a superstar!

I have really fallen off the exercise wagon. At one point I'd lost over 10 lbs. Has it stayed off? Noooo, of course not. So far I am getting my homework done on time. My recreational reading has been almost nonexistent since I started school, and I have book club on Wed. night. Ugh!

Sep 30 - LAST day of September! I can’t believe it. That’s just crazy.
I’m not doing well with exercising at all. My knees hurt so bad. I’m going in tomorrow to see if the doc will start my cortisone shots again. I can’t imagine that they’ll let me replace either knee yet, but who knows. Maybe there’s enough damage now, three years later. We’ll see. Anything to make some of the pain go away. I just want to be able to walk around the house, up and down the stairs, to and from my office… GEEZ, anything, without pain, please! I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

Not much else going on. Just work.

Love and Blessings

Carla, ouch! Your knees now? Does getting older mean accumulating various aches, pains, and conditions?

I'm doing fairly well on my goals, though not so much on recreational reading. I completed a total of 1 book outside of school in September. Sad.

By the way, I have started a new thread for October, November, and December HERE. Please start posting there. :)
