Good morning ladies. Heading out for my morning hike with Remi in a few minutes. She has her halter on and is softly howling at the front door, wanting to get going LOL. I'm waiting for my walking partners to text that they are waiting at the end of the block.

Lily Ann, Shana and Lynnie - yes, I was thinking about journaling too b/c 3 wks is a long time to try to remember details, especially for me b/c my memory is crappy to begin with. I put a journal book in my suitcase for daily journaling.

Picked up our travel documents yesterday and have some last minute things to do but not much to do now. I packed my suitcases and took photos of the packing so I remember how to pack to come home, to make sure I stay within the weight restriction. I have some digital books on my phone to read so am looking forward to some quiet time to read. I haven't done much of that this last year.

Remi is waiting for her walk so I'm heading out. The sun is shining, it will be a great hike. HAGD.

I also make a journal of my trips, otherwise I forget all the details. Sometimes it takes me months to make my pages, without my journal I would be nowhere. I wish you the best of times on your cruise Rae, can't wait to see your pages. I never went on a cruise and I don't know if I like it or not. Maybe I have to try it some day.
Next week I'm going to London for 5 days. My cousin who lives in Washington DC wil be there with his family too. We haven't seen eachother for 4 years, thanks to Covid19. We also have friends living in Windsor. We are going to meet up for dinner. I'm so thrilled about that, can't wait.

Alta… when you watch the cooking shows, do you make any of the recipes that they do on the show? I once started a cookbook on fire, so the only thing I really make is reservations! LOL!!

Today is the last day of this week’s conference. We’ve had a great meeting and the attendees have really bonded. The hotel had a fire alarm go off in the middle of the night (some guest decided it was a good idea light up a cigarette in the stairwell, so all the alarms went off and there were four fire trucks). So everyone is little tired this morning. Keep the coffee coming!

I won’t get home till late tonight, but all the attendees seem happy. So I feel job well done. Hoping I can start scrapping my Easter photos tomorrow after work. I’ll be driving right back to Wichita (where I am right now) again on Saturday to take prom photos for the nephews who graduate this year. Last year, the date of prom was soooo windy. Hoping that Mother Nature will give us a nice day this year.

Shana... I don't cook while watching, but I do try some of the recipes... I don't cook as often as I use to. But I am always looking for new ways to try my favorite ingredients... I love pasta and veggie recipes...
:)

Hi Alta, the first time a travelled by plane I was very nervous, but there was nothing to be scared of, it's like sitting in a bus, only in the sky. By the way it is the safest way to travel. If I was you I would give it a try!

Alta, I didn't fly until well into my 40's as my hubby was terrified of flying. One day he woke up and said "Ok let's go to Vegas, I am ready to fly!" Well, I booked tickets as fast I could and it was my first flight too but it was awesome! I love a good road trip but there sometimes is a need to fly. Try it and I am sure you will be off to some new places in no time!

Alta, I fly pretty much on a monthly basis for both personal and professional trips. Almost every summer since 2001 (except during a pandemic), I fly with 40 high school students, most of who are first-time fliers. If you need any tips, I'd be happy to share ideas of what to pack in your checked luggage vs what to pack in a carry-on! Like Yvonne said, it's similar to being on a bus, only the view can be better! LOL!

Good morning ladies. I was up half the night due to eye pain (I'm reacting to the glaucoma drops I got last week). The pain was unbearable and I had to lie in bed with the lights out and curtains drawn. I listened to the TV with my eyes mostly closed b/c any light was like daggers poking my eyes. I stopped the medication yesterday morning so finally this morning it is somewhat better. I've never experienced eye pain like this before. I called the specialist and he'll see me later this morning. Hopefully another medication will work better or I'll have to stop the drops until I return from the cruise in 3 wks.

Then Remi (my mini aussie) starting vomiting around 3:30, off and on for a few hours. She ate a toy. Luckily she got it out and we went back to bed around 6 am for an hour. But I've had very little sleep and will probably crawl back into bed later this afternoon for a nap. What a night. Remi seems fine now, drinking water and had a dog treat.

Alta - I was nervous about flying but aside from a bit of turbulence here and there, I find it nothing to worry about. I think we are safer in a plane than a car. I bring a snack, watch a movie and relax. We'll be on a flight Sat night for 7.5 hrs to Toronto and then I think its about 3 or 4 hours from there to Ft. Lauderdale. I'm not worried at all about the flights. I plan to nap.

Yvonne - enjoy your holiday with family.

I think I'll go do a challenge page and relax here in the dark, keep my mind off my crappy eyes. Ugh. I've got my suitcases packed and don't have to do much today. Tomorrow I'll do my nails, pay bills and then can relax. So glad I got so much done ahead of time. We'll be heading out early morning Saturday to the Vancouver airport. Woohoo...almost time! Just need my eyes to settle down.

HAGD everyone.

Go for it! You'll be fine. My first flight I was 14...that was a long time ago.

My procedure went well yesterday, as I knew it would. Today I have been to the grocery store with my mother. She just turned 89 and cannot see very well so I take her every week to make sure she has what she needs. It won't be long until I will need to make her come and live with me. Right now, she likes being independent, so I let her as much as possible.

Now I am off to get some layout completed before I have to start dinner. Later taters!

I'm not sure when I had my first flight. But the first one I remember, I was 9. Flying is awesome, Alta, give it a shot! :)

Am feeling a bit better today. A nap and kitty snuggles helps. I need to do some scrapping and get a shower somewhere in here, as well as fold a pile of laundry, woo hoo!

I hope everyone is having a great day so far! :)

Well, there went a coffee spit all over my keyboard...hilarious Shana:D

Congrats carla on making the site CT!!

Shana's on fire cookbook made me laugh, too. I just read it out loud to my son and his family. They laughed too!

I am at my son's house babysitting. I was going to do a nice long chatty post, but I just realized I am exhausted haha. I am doing to put my feet up instead.

Oh - dear on the cookbook fire!!!
I enjoy seeing the recipe's made on TV or collect recipe's on the computer but rarely make them. I might kinda do a something similar for inspiration.

Happy Friday to all.

On a less than happy note, I'm more than a bit frustrated with my medical diagnosis and time lines. The past year has been a rough one, but I'll survive.

Happy note- completed many pages for this week along with a crochet lap blanket and a lightweight shawl. The iPHONE class is going really well too.

If interested: NCAA national championship womens gymnastics is Saturday 4 pm eastern time.

Congrats, Carla! :)

And to the rest... glad I could make you all laugh! YAY! Happy Friday! :)

Holy Cow, you have been busy. Not sure if I could get all of that finished. I do my layouts during the day and at night, I sit with hubby in the living room and crochet or knit. My project right now is far to big to finish crocheting in one week though. Kuddo's to you! Question: Do you take your crochet with you when you cruise? I have taken mine a few times but never get around to picking it up!!!

Carla, I try to stay busy with crafting. Yes I do take yarn with me whenever we travel. I do get a lot down just sitting on the balcony. I'm not real fast. The lap blanket was with Bernat blanket [donated yarn] and a weight 6, so it went pretty fast. I prefer weight 3 or 4 yarn. Working on another shawl now, same pattern- a 4 row repeat, it's easy.

Good morning ladies.

Congrats Carla on getting onto the team.

I'm on anti-inflammatory drops for a month to clear up the glaucoma medication reaction I had but the eye swelling and pain is starting to decrease so each day will be a little bit better. We'll let my eyes rest until June and then try another medication. So glad I got to deal with this before we leave for the cruise in the morning. With the Fort Lauderdale airport flooding and closure, it is still dicey as to whether our plane will get to land there tomorrow but hopefully everything will work out. Otherwise we'll miss the first part of our cruise as they try to get arrange alternate plans to get us to the ship. Fingers crossed and thinking positive.

I may pop in if the wifi is ok on the ship, if not, I'll check in when I get back after May 5th.

Whew! It's been a crazy week and I haven't been able to scrap much or get in here to visit! Congratulations Carla on the CT spot! Great job! Jealous! So sorry for those of you dealing with medical issues. It can wear you out! Hope you guys get things figured out and feeling better!

Exciting for your cruise Rae! We love cruising. We just went in March and are planning again for a short cruise with friends in September. It's the only vacation that my husband can go on and really relax because nothing needs doing...

Alta! Definitely give flying a chance. My last flight was 13 hours (way to long) from Athens Greece to Atlanta! I don't recommend a flight that long. The only problem is, if you want to see far off places you have to sit for a long time! It was super great fly though as far as flying goes though. I've only been on one rough flight and it was a puddle jumper from across the Atlantic to get home from when we were stationed in Germany. I don't even really remember it but remember my mom talking about it! It will be so worth it to see your sister!

Happy Friday. I hope I can get some scrapping in this weekend! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Have fun on your cruise, Rae! :)

I hope everyone has a nice, relaxing weekend. I will hopefully get some scrapping done, after shopping tomorrow.

Waving hi everyone.

‘’day one is great for Journalling on I devices

hope all are well.

‘’congrats carla

‘’my son and I were talking about going to see Mario together.

‘’I successfully lost and kept off 7 kg during the Covid couch potato endemic. From 2019 till now.
‘my doc now wants that mammogram thing, blood tests, or should I say more blood tests, Physio for my knee I fell on in august. And stuff I’m forgetting.
‘I went to visit mom Easter Monday. She was really confused but not violent which was nice.
‘my GI issues really acted up this week. I hate them. They leave feeling so drained.

‘’I envy the green spring and flowers we have brown everywhere except some still white snow.

I wish I could spend time on the balcony. I often wonder why Kent books a room with one as we are never on it! Right now I am working on another Mosaic crochet blanket and it is a slow go.

Well I leave on my trip to Europe tomorrow and here I am up at 3AM, there is alot going on and sleep is not my best friend these days. Have alot of things to do today so hopefully a nap will be in the cards.

I have never been on a cruise, hubby doesn't like to try as he finds it too restricting.

I would love to get back crocheting, I took a class many moons ago and made a few doilies but it is something I would like to take up again. Michelle, your projects are amazing!

Congrats Carla on the CT spot, I adore your scrap style!

Best wishes for good health to those who need it. I may sneak in here when I am away but if not I will have loads of layouts to work on and share with you when I return.

Happy scrapping everyone!

Have fun Karen! We are heading out soon too, off to Vancouver, then flying to Toronto and then to Ft Lauderdale to get on the cruise ship. I'll be posting random pics on FB along the way with my phone.

See you all in 3 wks.

Thank You, Karen! Have a great time on your trip to Europe. I don't see that kind of trip in my deck of cards but I would love to see some of your photos! Safe travels to you!

Thank you, Rae! Have fun on your trip too! We won't be cruising again until October. No summer plans as of yet but I am sure that one of us will think of something!

Julia- We love cruising too. We were gone March 10-20. Can't wait until the next one!

Rae- Good luck with the eyes and medication. Crossing fingers for you. The airport in Ft. Lauderdale is open today. And it's literally across the street from the port. WiFi on the ship is ok depending on 'where' the ship is. Most ports you are fine. We did not purchase the onboard wifi package.

Happy Saturday everyone.

I've been on my flights. Some had turbulence, some had delays. I've even flown solo a couple of times.
I've been on a hand full of cruises, Disney and NCL. Nothing beats a Disney cruise but NCL is fun too.

I'm going to Disney for a getaway weekend around May 6. I'm going on a cruise out of NY to Canada in Sept. 2024.

Hope every who is sick gets to feeling better and those vacationing have the time of your lives.
