I challenge myself!

I covered the middle part of the pictures because no one wants to see my fat exposed. But under the two gray patches is what I look like in a sports bra and short shorts that I would never wear in public. All my fat folds are exposed so I can see were I started from. Kind of my own body shaming. I'm embarrassed by how I look. I'm going to use that pain and embarrassment to motivate me.

Well I've hit the half way mark in my challenge. My kit total has grown, but I'm still working the 107 I started with.

I used You've Got The Book by Blue Heart Scraps.

Wow Cristy! Great job on your challenge. I am in awe. Not sure I could count all the kits I have but I know I need to start using them. And congrats on getting all those memories recorded for future generations. Your sons are lucky to have you keeping their history. Congrats on the graduation. :)

Haha! Good luck with that challenge! I still have kits that I've never used and I've been doing this since 2009. I do try to purge kits that I know I'll never use and I've gotten very picky when downloading freebies.

I totally blew all my good intentions on iNSD day. :36_11_20: But I did use eight templates out of a 16 pack. And all templates out of two four racks.

When I was looking for a Just Because Studio kit to use for the Designer Spotlight Challenge I found this one in my stash and knew instantly I needed to use it for this set of pictures. My son is very active with scouts and loves working on merit badges. Even though he no longer "needed" to earn the Environmental Science Merit Badge he wanted to because of the chance to learn a the hands of the awesome staff at Cranbrook Institute of Science. We learned a lot over the 8 hour day there.

Good Luck!! I've lost track of how many kits I have. Gigabytes worth-lol! I had to clean up and delete a lot of freebies that I never used and move all of them to an external hard drive because they were eating up all the space on my laptop-lol!

I have 23 DVDs worth of zipped kit files and I've only been doing this since February.

The plaque on the lower left side is my journaling for the page and reads: These 80 silver goblets commemorate the 80 men who flew the Doolittle Raid against Japan in April 1942. Over the years, these goblets have taken a highly symbolic place in the history of military aviation.

In December 1946 Gen. James "Jimmy" Doolittle and his fellow Raiders gathered to celebrate his birthday, and that event turned into an annual reunion. In 1959 the city of Tucson, Ariz., presented the Doolittle Raiders with this set of silver goblets, each bearing the name of one of the 80 men who flew on the mission. During halftime at a U.S. Air Force Academy football game, Doolittle turned them over to the superintendent of the Academy for safekeeping.

The Air Force Academy displayed these goblets between Raider reunions. In 1973 Richard E. "****" Cole, Doolittle's copilot during the 1942 raid, built this portable display case to transport them.

At every reunion, the surviving Raiders meet privately to conduct their solemn "Goblet Ceremony." After toasting the Raiders who died since their last meeting, they turn the deceased men's goblets upside down. Each goblet has the Raider's name engraved twice -- so that it can be read if the goblet is right side up or upside down. When there are only two Raiders left, these two men will drink one final toast to their departed comrades.

In 2005 the surviving Doolittle Raiders decided to make the National Museum of the United States Air Force the permanent home for these historic goblets.

I used the Good Times Mini Kit from Blue Heart ScrapsJournaling Reads: Since our Dad died my one up sister (Barb) goes out of her way to spend as much time as possible with our mom. I know our mom loves having her around. She once told me that having her around is liking having Dad back since they are so much a like. I just love seeing her smile.

Layout # 64, Only 43 to go.

I used Family Heritage by JoCee Designs and the Blue Heart Scraps A year of blessings Aug. 2017 Challenge template.

The Journaling reads: What would I do with one more day with you? I would make sure there was nothing to get in my way. No phones, no TVs nothing. I'd spend every second of that 24 hours with you. I would hold onto you as if my life depended on it. To feel your time worn hands hold mine. To feel your arms wrapped around me. I would smell you. Take in the scent I grew up with. Old Spice. That is what you always smelled like. I would allow that smell to envelop me and penetrate my clothes so that when you were gone I'd still have it with me. I would record every word you say as we talked about your childhood, my childhood, how you loved mom. I would listen to every word. I would hang on the next word. Just to hear your voice. To hear you laugh would be amazing I would watch the sunrise with you. I would watch the waters of the great lakes crash over the shores near a lighthouse with you. I'd still be sitting with you when the sun set over the horizon. I would watch the stars as they came out and twinkled in the night sky. I' would do anything and everything you want to do. But as I write this, I realize that if I was given one more day with you Dad, I would give you to Mom for the day. I know you loved me and I loved you, but it would mean more to me for her to get one more day with you. ~ I miss you Dad

Is it wrong of me to want to gift you my entire store! hehe

Seriously that's some sheer will and determination. I don't want to count how many things I have accumulated over the years. It's scary! I just tried counting and I got to 162, saw I still had 10 more designers to count and figured I have enough, specially since that is just ONE store and I have several store, plus closed up stores, plus Disney, plus.....yeah, you get the drift! But I'll keep getting more because it's just so fun to play with new things, mix-n-matching and using something that you forgot you had!

You are doing great. Keep it up!! You've got this and before you know it, it'll be DSD weekend and you'll be able to shop for more new goodies!
