Kiwano Melon

Has anyone here ever heard of or eaten this strange looking fruit? While in the store picking up some fruit I saw this one and decided to get adventurous. This is what it looks like: Are the seeds edible and do you just scoop it out like a melon?

What grocery store did you find it at? I want to try one! :)

Not that , but for kicks, we tried Durian. We watched Guy Fieri try one on Triple D and then watched Andrew Zimmern refuse one on Bizarre foods. They are sweet but the smell is DISGUSTING. They smell like a rotted corpse....truly!!! My DH, who will eat anything, couldn't even stomach the smell. We ended up plugging noses and shoving it in. Once in, it was really good but it's impossible to get passed the smell.

I can't imagine they sell many of them!
 
It looks pretty but glad I read your layout before running out to get me one. LOL I used to think Kiwi looked funny as well but I did find I liked those.

I really wanted to try Durian in Vietnam but didnt get to do it.
