Your Black Friday Plans

I'm usually away on Black Friday wkend, shopping in Bellingham but this yr is the first that I've decided to stay home. I did some xmas shopping last wkend in Bellingham and stocked up on Trader Joes food (enough to last me until we go back in the spring to open up our trailer again). I'm happy to not have to deal with the insane border crossing lineup on Friday.

On Friday night and most of Saturday, I'm looking forward to just hanging out, do a bit of scrapping and then on Sunday morning (weather permitting) will go out with a friend to the bird sanctuary for a photo walk. Then I'll come home and get my hubs so we can go spend the afternoon with Bailey.

We typically do NOT go shopping on Black Friday. Instead, we go out to a movie as a family. This year though, my child is going to a movie with their friends and we are going shopping for fixtures for our master bath remodel (later in the afternoon). The family movie is yet to be determined and will be on Saturday.

I won't be shopping on Black Friday, unless it is online. Scrapping, crochet, machine embroidery and watching football.

I might wander out for a bit but it will be early. Not sure it gets that crazy here, Saturday's are the day you want to stay home. Myabe even get a bit of crafting done, still have a few more cards to make.

I don't do black friday!!! I can't stand being around that many people...LOL. It really makes my anxiety go nuts! I will be working on Hybrid projects all day. :)

My son and I will hit a couple stores Thanksgiving evening when I take him home after dinner. It's our tradition now. Friday I have to go to work for a little bit, but will probably hit Joann's on the way home for their 50% off paper crafting sale. They aren't usually that busy on Black Friday.

I'm totally with Tanya but not the anxiety, just the lack of desire to be with that many crazy, inconsiderate people.

I have tried to gather a few Christmas gifts over the last few months. We are going very frugal this year so it will be hard on my 18 year old since he is used to getting SPOILED. And I usually do pj's for all the grandkids and my kids and spouses but this year I think only my 18 year old will get a pair, from Walmart - $11.88. Hahahaha

I like to leave the balance of what I have for the grandkids. We as adults just buy what we want when we want it but the grandkids, they live for birthdays and Christmas and ALL THE TOYS.

Anyone see anything that is a must have toy for a 3 year old boy? He has hand-me-down toys from a brother and sister so he really don't need anything. I want to get him something that he will love.

Ok - so I did hit a few stores today . . . Michael's, Hobby Lobby and Home Goods. None were busy. In two of them, there were multiple empty registers to walk right up to. The clerks say it's due to online shopping.

Target was a little crazy last night, cart after cart of TV's at the registers. I took advantage of the holiday decor sales to get my son a full Christmas tree set up for his new house.

I avoid Black Friday like the plague. I would rather pay more than face the crowds.

And....

I am really an online shopper. I support small shops and don't mind paying more for things that support the little people, but I am ambivalent about the chain shops and tend to shop online when I can.

Books shops I struggle with, since I love the local shops, however, when the difference between the cost of a book online and in the shop can save me $15 or $20, I really don't want to pay that much more just to support a local shop when it is a chain like Barnes and Noble, much as I love them. I go back and forth.
