You go nuts baking for the annual neighbourhood cookie exchange! LOL...(which is tonight!)

I just finished baking the following:

4 dozen sugar cookies
4 dozen peanut butter cookies
3 dozen hello dollies (or magic cookie bars)
4 dozen chocolate covered sour keys.

I'm all baked out today!!!

You go Trace! So far on my days off this week (sunday/monday) I've made:
Double-decker fudge
Peanut butter kiss cookies
Hawaiian snowball cookies
Chocolate pecan snowballs
Snowcap cookies
Mexican hot chocolate cookies
Chai spice cookies
Pfeffernusse

Still have about 4 more kinds to make before our family Christmas on the 20th.

That is a lot Marie!!! WOW. :)

I will probably make some whipped shortbread and a few other little goodies for my family's side Christmas on Boxing Day. My 20 year old niece saw my baking on FB today and was sad it wasn't for her! LOL.

You panic when you realize that you have only one pay check before Christmas and mortgage is due...EEK!

Wow, Trace & Marie! You ladies are amazing! I wish I lived closer and could sample all those goodies :)
I haven't baked in several years. I used to make big trays of chocolate chip cookies, fudge, rice krispie squares and banana bread, but stopped because our oven door doesn't open all the way. Okay...yes, this is odd... but, we have a normal sized refrigerator and when we moved into our apartment there was an older stove. The oven door worked fine, but it was at least 20 years old and didn't work well. So, when it was replaced, the new one is larger and sticks out more. So I really can only use the top shelf in the oven because I'm afraid of burning myself if I use the lower shelf.
...just another reason I'm believing for a house this year!!

Funny story.....my neighborhood had an awesome one...I rsvp'd and then un-rsvp'd because I did not feel like baking 3 dozen. On the plus side no calorie full cookies in my home but the ones I bought myself ;)

Sounds like a lot of fun and a lot of work. I used to bake yummy christmas treats and I just never feel up to it anymore...

Way to go on the baking!

I don't bake much anymore. I do make white trash for Bill's office and a few friends.

David and I are making cinnamon applesauce ornaments on Friday and I still have gifts left to complete.
the rest of the gifts are ordered online.

Today we're making homemade Salsa and Peanut Brittle (Odd Combination I know! But both are Christmas gifts! lol)
Then we'll start making Coconut Balls, fudge, Pecan Pralines, and who knows what other kinds of candy!! We aren't cookie makers when it comes to Christmas, we're Candy makers!! ;)

Nothing wrong at all with making CANDY!! I wish I could! I want to make homemade marshmallows and caramels. Have two easy recipes but I'm just too scared LOL!

Sounds like fun but nobody does that here in Australia that I know of. Our immediate neighbours just get a card, bottle of wine and chocolates :)
