Wording Suggestions Needed :)

I have a unique situation here...

My sister was married last July 2016...a very small informal ceremony by the town judge on her front porch with literally her immediate family present. They are planning an actual wedding reception next July 2018 and want to send out Save the Date's soon since it seems their circle of friend's summers seems to book up fast. This is a big reason they decided to just get married and plan the wedding for another time...they've had so many weddings the past couple years, babies, graduations, etc. my sister is hoping she's not going to have to compete with anyone.

Anyway...this is the card I designed...

I wanted to keep it "light" and informal since everyone knows they're already married. She didn't really like "making it official"...since it's already official. My point being...it's LEGAL...now it can be "official" since she's including her friends and family...make sense?

Any other wording suggestions? Is she being too literal? Am I over-thinking this?

Thoughts?

I like it! Great job! And I get what you mean by making it official. They were married legally but now they are having their official ceremony. That being said, since she's the bride, if she has another idea I would probably defer to her. :)

They were actually married 7-19-16 and that will be their "anniversary"...this is really just the party. They want to do some sort of ceremony before the reception, maybe just a vow renewal...

So maybe I say "Come Celebrate Lori & Tom's Marriage"...ugh...I don't know.

Of course I'm the matron of honor, and the creative one, so I'm feeling the pressure here...LOL

I get her point - her marriage is official - now they are just celebrating it with friends and family. Don't have any suggestions for you, though, unless they plan on renewing their vows at that time?

That part is still to be determined...they want to do some sort of "ceremony"...but not sure if it will be a renewal of vows or what exactly.

How about something like "Celebrate with Lori and Tom" .... ? or "Celebrate Lori and Tom's love"...?

Love your font and color choices!

I really like what you have done actually but I get where she is coming from, and she is the bride.... I like the suggestion of changing that 2nd line to "Come celebrate with Lori and Tom". Since a formal invitation will come soon, that hints that there will be a party/celebration. Good luck!

I understand her not liking the "make it official" part.

I like the using something about joining them to celebrate their love like Lori mentioned. :)
