Word Art

I'm looking for some inventive ways to use word art. I always wind up using word strips over part of my picture or nestle them in a cluster.

I saw that we have a designer "Word Art World" who has TONS of word art. I'd like to utilize them more.

Like this one:

Do you just put them on the background? Do you re-color? Do you place them on photos? How do *you* use them?

I forget to use wordart most of the time... but when I remember I do love to recolor them. If the word art is thick enough I will also clip a background paper to it rather than a single color. I also like to nestle it with a group of elements and sometimes make large ribbons coming down from under the photo and the wordart will be prominent in that ribbon. I need to use wordart more!

Such a good question! I love Word Art, but I'm not very creative using it at all.

My go-to is to find some white space in a photo and use it there.

I use WA a lot in place of a title (because I'm not great at titles) It's a good way to cheat and not have to come up with a clever title on my own.

I found this page too, where I wanted to use up a bunch of words so I arranged them along the side as a design element sort of.

But looking through my gallery, the thing I do with WA the most is add it to Project Life and other block style LO's. I like to use WA to make my own journal cards to fill up the spaces. I also used my "put some words on a photo" trick here too.

So I guess my biggest takeaways are-
I love WA and definitely want to use it more!
It takes any pressure off to come up with titles.
Words on top of photos are my favorite.
I think I'm more likely to use word art if it's part of a kit already (already colored and styled for me)
I'm a WA hoarder! I have so much and really need to learn how to use the blank ones like WAW sells.

I love WA but as you mentioned not very creative with using it. I mostly use it as a title and hope to find a few new ways here as Jennifer has shown.

A couple of ways I utilize word art aside from using them "as is", is to apply a style to them i.e. glitter, epoxy, paint etc. Or I change the blend mode to see how they blend into the layer below. Also I clip paper or recolor them.

I'm glad you brought this up b/c I realized I haven't done this for awhile and had sort of forgotten how much I used to do this :)

I love making them white against a light background so they change the background into a themed background.

oo- ribbons!! Fun!!

I mostly use them for cheat titles - you have some great ideas for other ways - thank you!

I never would have thought of that!! Thank you!

I love word art! Often, it is my inspiration for a page. Re-color, add styles, whatever draws the page around it. :) Jennifer's Word Art World is a treasure trove of page starters. When I lose my mojo, it usually only takes a new word art to jump start it!
